BFL customers are receiving refunds from this address

https://blockchain.info/address/14HDc3EdtLRwKHX21Z1Y2geTFGYv1k7x3N

which was in part, funded by this address a few hours before BFL started sending the refunds, making it highly unlikely it's orders coming in, but rather just BFL gathering funds. it is nearly 100% certain this is one of BFL's wallets.

https://blockchain.info/address/1HMm2RQ3zwwenxusaV5NMHc3Cx5cdtbj87

the big problem there, this address was active in a period of time BFL's assets were supposed to be frozen, and the reciever was supposed to be in control of their wallet.

Just like this address

https://blockchain.info/address/1B5SZ31Nan5z8N49mEgb4r9i2E6CiMTCRb

Directly funded BFL's refund address. The transaction immediately before went into an address that sent money into the bitcoin hack address, suggesting the money was initially sent to bitstamp.

TL;DR:

all the while their assets were supposed to be froze, someone at BFL was mining and selling bitcoins through bitstamp. They REALLY made that judge look like an rear end in a top hat.

Adding Bitcoin to a will? (self.Bitcoin)
submitted 3 hours ago by hitforhelp

After reading this thread over at ask reddit. http://redd.it/2rzru6 I was wondering how people intend to deal with their bitcoins in a will.
Obviously we all intend to keep coins secure by not revealing the password. However if you die how will anyone be able to access those coins and access them fairly to distribute them to the relevant parties written in your will.
Is there anyone out there who has thought about this seriously and have any practical solution?

quote:

KingOfRye 3 points an hour ago

If this is for your wife, I might put passphrases to BIP38 keys in the will in a safe deposit box. The passphrases could be disguised as last wishes so a judge won't blackmail her. Tell her ahead of time about them. She will have to understand that not giving her access to it is for her protection.
In the event that she dies with you, I would also create Shamir's Secret Sharing of keys that unlock a file stored in the safe with the instructions of what you and her know. Give those keys as a m of n to people you also name in your will for one dollar and the file stored on a disk or thumb drive stored in the safe. She would otherwise have accessed the safe before the will is read through a locksmith service and will see instructions on the file storage for her to destroy it immediately.
I don't know any other way to do this without trusting probate court, which I don't.

quote:

dskloet 2 points 2 hours ago

I have distributed my cold storage key in multiple shares (using Shamir's Secret Sharing) over family members and friends. I trust that no 3 of them will collude unless I'm dead or unable to do it myself.

Looking at the 1 week chart from the height of the Nov '13 bubble to now looks eerily like a y=1/x type function (positive side). LTC especially. BTC deviates a lot more from the line but as more time goes on, it starts looking more and more similar. I'm not trying to say it's going to continue forever or anything like that, just that I find it interesting.

[REWARD] Wrote down my private key wrong (self.Bitcoin)

submitted 6 hours ago by bqr923La

Hello.

I've just discovered that the private key I've written down doesn't correspond with the public address (with 0.5BTC on it!) I've asked people to transfer bitcoins to.

This is probably as a result of writing down one character wrong! I thought I'd checked pretty thoroughly though!

The private key as written is (5KgbGQiriNxxwMKgdpwmu5ZsYyXBuBaCg7es9z5xznAnCEHzy51) The public address is (1NRR7gLLeKWdP3iwphf8q1zqjJE2w5UFNc)

If you work out the correct private key please help yourself to a reasonable cut of the bitcoin. Please don't steal it all!

Transfer the rest to: 13uJGCedAfPBaxYncZq4tHhuGdxGxHiexN

The longer you spend helping with this, the more you can take.

We should all tip him up to 10,000 dollars. If he doesn't take it then something is VERY fishy and he likely could be a paid detractor... It would be hard to have any other reason not to take 10k.
