I did actually! I don't usually watch Conan, but I couldn't find Drew's entire episode on youtube, so I decided an episode of Conan would do. I know the thread loved the hell out of Conan's scraps episode, and I found it interesting, but ever since watching it, I can't help but notice how much Conan absolutely does not give a poo poo about anything at all. Watching the tribute to Craig that talked about why late night TV sucks immediately followed by watching Conan's first show of the year just cemented that fact further. During his first guest interview, there was this huge talking point about how she had a terrible memory and couldn't remember anything lol, and then Conan just moved on to the next bullet point on his card, and asked her if she remembered seeing him years ago at a White House event thing. It was pretty obvious Andy was the only person paying the slightest bit of attention to the conversation.

Conan's monologues have been absolute garbage for about a year now. It's really sad but I'm glad that the audiences consistently aren't afraid to poo poo on bad jokes. It still doesn't explain why he's still telling East Coast jokes when he's been in LA for like 5 years.

A podcast for someone like Craig is the worst possible idea. A vodcast, maybe. So much about his humor comes through in his body language and his expressions.

podcast doesn't mean it's only audio :ssh:.

There are plenty of podcasts out there that utilize a video format.

That's what the studios and their publicists want the host to do on a late night show.

I realize you're pretty much kidding but it'd either be just a straight up episode of the Price is Right at 12:30AM which would be weird or a big money version which they can't do anymore because they screwed up the last time they did it and gave away too many million dollar prizes, and apparently the insurance for doing more of them is too expensive for them now.

I was only able to get through a couple episodes. Drew's monologue and attempts at bits were, at best, an awkward affair and uncomfortable to watch. From what I saw, I thought George Gray was far more comfortable in his role and funnier than Drew himself. Truth be told, I was surprised by this considering Carey cut his teeth on Carson's Tonight Show.

During that time there wasn't a 12:30 talk show either. I wonder how Corden's ratings will fare.

Maybe this is where he came up with the "TV's Craig Ferguson" line since his name was literally inside of a teevee in the show's logo and just rolled with it from then on.

Or maybe he was a fan of MST3K... we may never know. :v:
