I'm probably just going to go with a stock suspension on it. Maybe some regular lowering springs. The racelands that came on my mk4 golf were pretty terrible and 2 were blown shortly after I got it. Right now I just want to get it running properly. All the timing marks seem to line up. Now I've got to see if it's getting spark. It seemed like it was getting fuel since the plugs were wet when I pulled them out. It got dark by the time I got to that point so I stopped working on it. The only rust I found on the caddy today was on the battery tray. I'll have to address that in the near future.

Racelands are the worst but some how mine haven't completely blown out after two TSD rallies and endless autocross. One is definitely leaking but it isn't completely gone. I want to switch to Bilstein HDs but it seems like nobody makes the strut housing for the fronts anymore going to have to figure that out soon.

I pulled it after six hours of stupid poo poo like offering a Chevy Malibu and endless questions unrelated to the actual condition of the car (protip: If I say its stored in winter then the last time it was driven was probably summer)

WTF you just ignore Fall and skip right to winter? Not buying THAT car. Also there are many cool Malibu.

I prefer the trade offers I get for my miata and the questions like my wife can't drive a stick is your 25 year old miata the perfect car for her to drive to work everyday?

1992 Subaru SVX.

- Automatic Transmission
- 6-cylinder horizontally-opposed boxer engine - 230 horsepower!!
- All wheel drive!
- Only 155,000 miles

Over $300 recently spent on new spark plugs and an oil change!

Only 14,000 were made for the United States! Subaru's super car. Rare car you've never seen before and will probably never see again! Don't miss out.

Body is in great condition with little to no rust, interior is very clean. Paint on hood could use some attention. See pictures.

Asking $2800.

While I don't know the value of these cars really I have seen this in person and he's not lying about little to no rust. Pretty nice looking SVX.

Sadly, the value of these are close to nil. I haven't looked in a while, but a few years ago at least you could find decent (if not perfect) running, usable ones all day long for under $1k. Parts cost is a big factor in this. LOTS of SVX specific poo poo is either NLA, or $$$$$$. Off the top of my head, windshields and door seals come to mind as good examples.

I wouldn't exactly say the value is close to nil, but the niche for it is so small that you pretty much have to be prepared to wait it out to get decent money for them. I'm not looking forward to selling mine but I'm just going to wait it out till somebody who wants one bad enough comes along.

If it ran that would be about the normal asking price around here. The convertibles are also considerably heavier, but I wouldn't mind hacing another GXL

I've always wondered,Does only the bottom half of the window roll down on the SVX?

Yes, only the part under the weatherstrip/rubber seal is a window that can wind down.
My only knowledge of them though is from top gear USA which had one in a challenge (s3e03 in 2012 - it's on streetfire.net) to compete against a merkur xr4ti and a cadillac allante.

Yup the top halfs are fixed. But the bottoms only go halfway down on the rear windows which is rather annoying.

1969 Datsun Roadster 2000 (2L with 5 speed). CLEAR TITLE. Runs, stops. Recent head job by previous owner. Floorboards have rust holes, convertible top is in very decent shape and has a new wind shield. Needs tune-up. Shifts through all 5 gears but needs sychronizer for 2nd gear unless you slow shift. I have had this car for 2 years and crank it up about every 3 months and drive it short distances. This car needs restoration but can be a daily driver with a little work. Missing some interior parts. No battery, I move a temp battery to crank up.
Update: I just re-listed this car without the parts car as it has been parted out. It now has been 6 months since the car has been run. I'm selling it as is for $1700. Anything less and I will part out.

The AW11 is mighty tempting, especially if I get to keep the plate. My wife and I both like the Spyder and it'd be a good beater for her to learn stick on if it doesn't have any precat issues. I could probably sell either or both to my landlord/neighbor when I'm done, he already has three MR2s in his driveway.

Yes. I have a 1.8T now at 190k and I also had the horrible 8V 2.0, which had w/160K when I sold it. I know about the sludging and general VW owner fukery. The car is bone stock so no VW teenager bullshit and at 200k it would have exploded already if sludge was a problem. The turbo was replaced...with a stock turbo. Almost sounds responsible. Any coil pack issues should be resolved as well. Should I anticipate HG failure in the future? Are the bearings good for that kind of mileage?

But hey it's craigslist so I'm sure it's a huge pile despite my best predictions.
