I have no opinions on Hamilton's fashion sense. I assume all Europeans dress like that.

Piquet didn't get a lot of credit for '81 because everyone at the time just put it down to the Brabham being so good/illegal, he didn't get a lot of credit for '83 because the focus was more on Prost/Renault for blowing it, and he didn't get a lot of credit for '87 beacuse it was a heavily-English media screaming about how it should have been Nige. He was really good though.

Although this has nothing to do with it really the caliber of his teammates (Patrese at the time(weirdly) and Rebaque) was called into question, it was said that they posed no threat to him usually. But the same could be said of his counterparts.

Reminder than Senna ruined Derek Warwick's career because he felt threatened, Brundle got booted from Benetton for the same reason under pressure from Schumacher.

Teo is pretty underrated, I dunno about Corrado. If the BT53 held together Piquet would have had reasonable chance of defending his title, it was certainly faster than the Mclarens.

Nigel had him in raw speed mostly because Piquet got hosed up in a crash two races in. According to him he was psychologically hosed up from the crash and had no depth perception and had to start using the brake markers for the first time in his career. He couldn't drive the track by himself which resulted him being poo poo in qualifying and unable to lead a race for any significant amount of time. He's been my favorite driver for a while just because of 87 and the great poo poo talking he did.

Schumacher who had about 15-20 races under his belt when Brundles contract negotiations rolled round? Im sure he had a lot of clout with the team.
