Fwiw I thought it was a cool track, at least enough so I'll actually probably download his mixtape. Didn't really expect it at all. Also I told you dudes Wayne still had it. He had already picked it up a bit on IANAHB2, and his recent singles/feature work has been really solid. Hopefully his album (in whatever form it takes) won't disappoint And Can Ox actually released an EP in the last year or so, I listened to a song and it was "ok" but sounded a lot more generic 00's NYC underground than Cold Vein. If you like that kind of vibe it's not terrible, but Vast Aire has always been kinda a basic punchline rapper which without anything else can wear thin. Vordul had my fav verses on Cold Vein but his solo stuff was always just blech.

I think alansmithee mentioned it somewhere but B4.DA.$$ is surprisingly enjoyable throughout. The production is obviously old-school but it's varied enough to avoid boom bap monotony and Joey himself tries a bunch of different approaches on the mic. Summer Knights was kind of boring but this is just really solid stuff. "No. 99" in particular is great.

Even TDE albums that aren't great usually have a good tone or direction or whatever, the songs just don't all come together right.
