Sometimes the bumpers were loving hilarious (I <3 "From Dusk 'Til Dog"), but for the most part I think they rarely justified the extra time they clearly took. They existed in a weird scripted/unscripted middle-ground that made them harder to do well than just jumping in like they do now. I also agree that "What Did We Learn?" is a great way to wrap up the episodes, even if it's five or so people breaking down into undisguised bafflement.

I don't know if this is  but I would love to hear an Fplus or Lou Reads episode about Gamergate supporters at some point. I know, I know, it's better to just leave those assholes alone but I would love to hear some of the real crazy read.

In seriousness, a Gamergate episode would run into exactly the same problems as MRA episodes, regardless of whether or not they are. Most of the content wouldn't be 'funny' so much as 'infuriating', so at best you'd be left with a collection of especially strange statements with ethics in video game journalism being the only thing that connects them, and even then only vaguely.

Really the only funny things I saw from gamergate were the massive conspiracy webs they created trying to prove people called bomb threats on themselves, and that's really more of a visual thing not suited for a podcast.

Yea even the actual funny poo poo like that legit crazy guy who thought Wu put a hit on him or something gets sad when he does poo poo like, ya know, crash his car on the way to her place with a trunk full of guns. There's just not a ton of funny in 'oh these guys legitimately are hateful, bitter, people who, if they weren't so helpless and stunted, would probably actually hurt someone'..

They've done legit crazies like the gangstalked folks, or that one dude who filed all the harassment lawsuits, but that stuff becomes a LOT more ethically gray, and less funny, when they actually try to murder someone.

The funny stuff about Gamergate is few and far between, but what is there is admittedly great, like the guy who made a Twitter account solely dedicated to debating and "spanking" feminists and ended up debating a Markov chain bot for THREE HOURS a couple days ago.

I thought that episode was going to be harder to get through than it actually was. It turns out mpreg is just too silly to get grossed out over. FPlus Live 3 was a much more unpleasant experience (especially in person).

Goddamn that was a creepy episode. There was this real undercurrent of non-consent/forced pregnancy to all of the stories, which was really disturbing. Also the genital-based body horror. Whoever made the Cronenberg comment was 100% on the money.
