I ironically bought Vanguard Princess and installed the Director's Cut DLC ironically to riff on all of the fanservice and panty shots MST3K-style and ironically play as the character who, ironically, wears barely any clothing (ironically, of course) and ironically put up a sign on my door saying "IRONICALLY" to tell people to stay out of my room. I have been doing this ironically for an entire year now and my family has left me here to die.

So, I'm trying to decide whether Dungeonmans or Sunless Sea is the game for me. I've seen footage of both, and both look like my cup of tea. But if I could only get one right now, which should it be? Is the narrative-driven stuff in Sunless Sea engrossing enough, and is the Dungeonmans gameplay richer than, say, Dungeons of Dredmor? Or are they so different that I should flip a coin and get the other later?

I finally got around to actually playing Roundabout this weekend and it's pretty much the poo poo, yo. Gameplay is pretty simple and goofy, with an oddly satisfying learning curve (although it's still pretty tricky; I'm onto the final map and I still can't finish most missions without exploding). It succeeds wildly at being funny, though -- the presentation is just perfect, with the terribly-acted FMV sequences (there's one early on with two small kids which had me in tears) and general disdain for its entire concept. This is exactly how "self-aware" games should be done. Downsides: it does seem like it's going to be pretty short, like 3-4 hours for the main "campaign." The bonus activities are pretty uninteresting, and while there are a LOT of secrets hidden around the map, and properties to buy and collect rent from, and hats to purchase for your limo, simply navigating around the city is so tricky that it makes me less excited to explore every nook and cranny, particularly given how easy it is to get stuck between obstacles and lose all your health at once. Also, it's really, really distracting that one of the characters is voiced by an SA LPer with a really distinctive voice. Dungeonmans is really funny but if you want a complete game then wait. It's still in early access and to answer your question, at the moment it's less rich than Dredmor. I still put 20+ hours into it and had great fun.
