That's a great shield, I think if I put my heater close to my computer I could make my armour do that.

Just stay far away and never get hit? Worked for me today, but yeah I never saw the tell either. Just Don and other melee going down occasionally

The tell is that she sends a white ball of light high up above her head. When it reaches its apex it turns into lasers and they come spraying down. It's infinitely easier to spot from range than from melee.
