Of course this is all guestimations because of the nature of it but that India/Pakistan match has been estimated as one of the most watched sporting broadcasts ever. Pretty good.

Also I'n not saying that it isn't impressive, just that with a sport like Cricket that it is as huge as it is in the second largest country in the world you'd expect the biggest game that they could play to be huge

Why does the wicket keeper sometimes put his helmet on the ground instead of wearing it, and what happens if the ball hits it?
# ? Feb 16, 2015 04:24 |
Lots of keepers don't like keeping with a helmet on unless they are right up to the stumps keeping against a spinner I believe if it hits the helmet, its five penalty runs?
# ? Feb 16, 2015 04:25 |
Yeah its five penalty runs. It very rarely happens tbh.
# ? Feb 16, 2015 04:29 |
Helmets are quite restrictive and as a keeper you need more peripheral vision and freedom of movement so they generally take them off when they can.

zakharov posted:Ireland still below the required rate... When I was a kid the rule of thumb was, unless a lot of wickets had fallen, you'd double the score at 30 overs gone to get an idea of the total. I haven't looked at recent trends but wouldn't be surprised if half the winner's score is made at about 35 overs gone now.

they've got the wickets left to accelerate; and they're enough ahead of where the Windies were at this stage in the game to make it easier in the last ten

I was about to suggest that the score required under Duckworth-Lewis should the heavens upon up immediately is probably the best way to see how a team is going. Then I wondered if D/L needs to be reexamined to take this brave new post-T20 world into account, or whether the maths behind it makes that irrelevant.
