Although to be fair the car changes are a smoke screen to distract from "Don't go 160mph through an area with marshals and diggers you stupid cunts"

God forbid they enforce regulations on driving safely. We want people crashing into each other as much as possible, just try not to kill anyone too often.

It's 480P here, but isn't that just a repost of a pretty old video from Ferrari? Maybe that's why it's a lower quality. edit: here you go, 1080P from Ferrari directly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac8o3yRoFIo

It must have been interesting for Vettel to try the car that ran him relatively close in 2012. Those noses really were dreadful though - much worse than the dicknose last year. it's strange how you get used to them and then look back three years later and think 'ugh'.

It's fun but after every 3rd or so online race the matchmaking seems to fall over and you'll have to leave and rejoin the multiplayer browser to fix it. If you have a pulse you will be better than 99% of pubbie drivers but that's true of any racing game.

Ignoring the fact it launched utterly, utterly broken I just find Driveclub hideously uninspiring. It's the new gen equvilent of stuff like Total Drivin. There's nothing wrong with it as such but it's just so driving game by numbers, "good enough" physics, "world" tracks that there's just very little to like. And of course the AI cheats like a mofo and the fallout of the weather not making release is it's not actually in the "Story" mode at all, only in (free) post game DLC and custom races. It's still the best racer on PS4 for another month so if you see it "Month" cheap go for it but if you happen to have both machines, Forza Horizon kills it and plays football with its decapitated head.

With that said, gently caress the weather dlc expansion pack that it's driving gently caress off fast cars in a blizzard as it turns to night and you can't turn off headlights to fog lights so you see gently caress all.

Really digging that Ferrari concept. It's pretty strange when series like Indy car and Formula E have more aerodynamic-looking cars than Formula 1. F1 should be about the fastest ridiculous-looking, racing cars, not dicknoses and vanity panels.

that ferrari concept both looks awful and is the least realistic F1 concept i've ever seen. it looks like someone on reddit made it. why the gently caress aren't these concepts ever CLOSE to what an F1 car would actually look like? i get that concepts are always bad and fake but you'd think if an F1 team was behind it they'd inject a tiny bit of realism

Yeah gunna go ahead and say that that looks poo poo. Red Bull already won the "No rules F1" with their RB concept or whatever it was that they never actually built but put in a simulator and sent round a track in record time then went "yeah look at us it would totally do that in real life we're the best"

With a bit of work they could probably slap that on an old monocoque.

Yeah, I'm not seeing how that's "unrealistic ". Take a look at the evolution of F1 design over the years. Not that far fetched.

Norns posted:Yeah, I'm not seeing how that's "unrealistic ". Take a look at the evolution of F1 design over the years. Not that far fetched. Its unrealistic because it has zero aero considerations. Unless you start awarding WCD points for how good the cars look, they wont ever look like that one because someone will discover that if you chuck a bunch of winglets everywhere instead of the smooth curves you save 0.01 seconds per lap

I'm no aerodynamicist, but it looks pretty aero to me. It just looks really chunky and beefy in those renders and would likely be a lot smaller in reality.
