I feel like I need to give that a go once, same with Moto Cross; The use of the word "Endurace" to describe a "Monster Truck" rally is a tad bit unusual, because I always associate that with Sports Cars. But, perhaps I'm missing something? In any event I now have the image of Bob Varsha at a monster truck rally, and that image sounds amazing.

I think they call it endurance because they use the same truck for different things. Racing, jumping, stunt show, etc.

They used to call them monster truck 'enduros' back in the day, like motorcross enduros. I think thats where it comes from.

Back in the 80's when monster trucks started getting popular, they had the car crushing drag race we all know, but they also competed in mud bogs and pulling competitions, and sometimes tug of wars. poo poo was crazy, especially when it's a bright orange van with a Detroit diesel.

Trans-Am has 70 entries for Sebring. 70. For a series even lots of racing fans didn't even know exists. It's time to combine Trans-Am, PWC's 100 entries, and CTSC's 56 entries onto one track. The smaller the track, the better. THIS SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY.

That ain't Trans-Am. Paul Gentilozzi killed that off. It's glorified club racing, the PWC is the real heir to that throne.

I'd argue the Continental Tire GS class is closer to true Trans-Am from the 70s but like cygni posted, racing has kind of become a club racing thing except on the top classes. Kind of is since we don't have the flood of tobacco money so we need our

Yeah, the GT3 cars are a bit higher spec than the '70s ones. Most were pony cars too so I guess that's closer than the high-end GT3 machines. But certainly the Conti series or PWC is closer to the preparation standards of '80s and '90s Trans-Am. Current TA is closer to SCCA Regional action. Can't pretend it's the same.

If they can get 70 entries they can call it what they like as far as I'm concerned.

It's always good to have commentators who just assume someone 'ran wide' when you can see three cars wide going into the last corner and not what happened afterwards.

I'm not sure the Passats are quite there yet but that's one hell of a driver line up. Aron Smith's about to find out how good he actually is. Brave of Plato too actually, he's not had a really top line teammate since a rookie Robb Huff a decade ago and before that probably Muller and Thompson in 2001.

So the interesting seats left are: The second Eurotech Honda seat - they were champions two years ago yet so far only have Jeff Smith confirmed who'll spend the year trundling around midfield. Not quite sure what the deal is with the Pirtek sponsorship, hopefully they won't just have to sell the seat to the highest bidder. The second seat at 888 to partner Jordan. Tesco are in a spot of financial bother at the moment so I suspect they won't be putting in much money this year, I predict Jordan will be their focus and the second seat will be somebody who brings in money. Motorbase. Ran three Ford Focus last year. Only confirmation is Alex Martin (Ferrari Challenge in 2014). I'd imagine Matt Jackson will be back unless money is an issue. Giovanardi had a weak return year so I'd favour Menu who showed more patches of speed.

The Tesco thing is massively overstated, they still make billions and right now is when they need PR. The 2 car MG thing probably barely cost them a million. Whether they're sticking with Plato I don't know but the point is they certainly won't be sticking with 888.

Then again if they're street racers they probably don't even have them.
