Goo my G500 dies and reconnects randomly, and I've ruled out everything except the mouse itself. This is my 2nd logitech gaming mouse that died right out of warranty. Do I have any chance of getting a replacement? I really liked it but I'm hesitant to get another Logitech mouse.

The most common failure is the braided wire in the USB cable breaking but still kind of being almost connected so it will work until it flexes a bit and then it disconnects. If it's still in warranty they'll replace it, if not they might replace it but probably not. I'd give them a call. If you're handy and have a soldering iron you can probably also fix it yourself.

I got a warranty replacement on my G400 a while back, but while I was waiting for it in the mail I ended up cutting a chunk out of the existing cable and rejoining it. It was a really lovely job but the mouse works perfectly (for now). This is the piece I removed because the bulge in the cable just outside the front of the mouse seemed like the culprit.  I split out the cables and soldered them to a little piece of protoboard I had handy from another project, but it's probably easier to rejoin them inline. The hardest part is that the cables are super small braided wires so it's very very easy to damage them while stripping them:  I laid the new cable back into the side channel where the old one went which has some 90' bends which may be an issue in the future, but I tried to do a little strain relief on the part that comes out the top of the mouse just with some heat shrink tubing. I'm sure at some point it will have another failure and I'll have to bust out the replacement G400S, but I may perform some more surgery to swap the shells because I'm not a fan of the blue weirdness on the -S models. I don't know if they'll actually match exactly but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. A cleaner job would've been to get the cable right into the modular plug that is there but after poking around at it I realized I didn't have whatever would be needed to crimp it in properly and I didn't want to mangle the plug so I did my fix just down away from it. The G500 internals will be different but I'm sure there are some guides to taking them apart online if feel like doing it.

So apparently my girlfriend really loathes the sounds of mouse-clicks sometimes. gently caress it, whatever. Anybody know a good mouse that has a tactile click but not an audible one? I take corded over wireless and sometimes I like extra buttons.

It also has adjustable weights, not that I personally find that at all important. The shape is very slightly different and the thumb buttons are shaped differently. Largely comes down to personal preference. The scroll wheel isn't "improved" though, its a different design entirely with toggle-able freescroll and tilt buttons. I generally don't like these features but I'm actually happy with them on the G502. The wheel doesn't lose all of its indexing because of the freescroll mode.

G402 has a slightly different layout, the DPS toggle button is farther down. G402 is much lighter weight, it's ~100g where the G502 is ~120g. This is a gigantic plus for the G402. They use different sensors, there's lots of spergy details about them out there, both are fine anyway. So there are upsides to both of them really.

My Logitech MX518 seems to be dying so I've been looking for a replacement one but it looks like they aren't sold anymore. I was sad when the MX510 was discontinued but the MX518 was practically the same, is there something that feels and looks similar to the MX518 or should I just buy a used one? The g series looks like futuristic roboporn.

Only looked around the last couple of pages so not sure if it's been mentioned before but I just recently got a Final Mouse (http://www.finalmouse.com) and really like it. Driverless, high quality, simple. I've been using a Logitech g500 for a long time and think the Final Mouse is an upgrade. $67.12 on Amazon with Prime.

Final Mouse seems kind of odd to me. It's a stock OEM shell with stock sensors and switches, but the markup on it is absolutely insane for how little features it has. It also has some QC problems apparently, lots of defective mice getting sent out. Also kind of weird that it only operates at 500hz, but apparently it doesn't seem to matter? The sensor quality is apparently very good. It also uses Omron's and has a braided cable, and super lightweight. Also has a 3 year limited(?) warranty, but who the hell knows what kind of RMA service you'll get out of them. The quality looks good but the price point is kind of outrageous.

After reading half of the OCN thread on the FM, it seems that it is a basic no frills mouse which it seems to do adequately from what other people say. But the 67$ is probably a deal breaker for most people since it is that basic and simple of a mouse. I would totally buy it for 50$ CAD.

Those expensive simple, basic mice is just making me wish I had stockpiled on MX300s or G1s while I had the chance. All these new mice have some kind of flaw that causes strange or ridiculous problems. I click to pull the trigger on my assault rifle and then watch it fire non-stop until I mash left click again.

Yeah for close to $70 a barebones mouse better feel absolutely solid like a rock. Especially considering that the G502 and Avior/Naos7000 cost the same price and are very solid mice with tons of extra features.

They're all gonna be membrane keyboards and generic optical mice, so pick whatever is in your budget and suits your fancy. Unless you're talking about one of those all-in-one combination units, but I don't think they're available for $40.

I'm kinda surprised that despite talking about the muzzle for the cable in multiple paragraphs, they didn't actually provide a clear picture of it. A couple shots where you can see it poking out the end, but nothing close to a front profile shot.

The G602 was on sale today, so I picked one up to try out. I still like the Anywhere MX, but the Logitech gaming software doesn't work with it, and I wanted to see how useful the extra buttons would be. I've been pretty pleased with it so far, and I'm most surprised with the fact that it seems to track just fine on glass, despite not having a Darkfield sensor. It does get a bit jittery on clean glass compared to the Anywhere MX, but so far it seems perfectly fine for regular browsing and office tasks. Still need to use it a bit more to put it in its paces, but it seems a lot less likely that I'll be returning it like I first thought I would.

Returned my piece of poo poo G502 and received the replacement today, scroll wheel is now scrolling properly but some buttons need way less pressure to press than the other ones, the worst one is left click so I think they sent me a refurbished mouse, also the teflon pads are all warped. G502 ownership has not been pleasant for me, I have the whole logitech set (G15, G502 and G35) and only the keyboard has been trouble free for me, I'm not buying logitech anymore. As additional advice, stay away from logitech 7.1 headsets, they never work properly in games because of the lovely usb soundcard (crackling sound, volume going up/down for no reasons) and I had to RMA mine a few times for sound problems, then buy a new one because they refused to RMA it because some plastic was cracked (they all crack in the same spot, just go on logitech forums, it's so bad that a guy with a 3d printer is making mad money selling replacement parts) and then I bought the last one after last year big price cut and it is definitely not the same product, the sound is really bad quality compared to the old ones, pretty sure they just put cheaper drivers in them to lower the price.

I've never had audio quality problems with my G930 headset and the things still feel solid after years of getting thrown in my backpack, slept on, etc. but I do have the random disconnect problem. A bunch of my friends also have or had G930s and experience the same issues, which obviously get much worse if we have a LAN party and get a bunch of them in the same room. I wish I could tell the things that I'd prefer bad audio to nothing at all. It seems like even when walking away from the base to test range it doesn't really have any falloff. It's just perfect->slightly garbled->nothing. It really needs more of a cell phone or lossy VoIP type behavior with bad signals.

Does anyone make anything similar to this?  It's really super handy to have a mouse chilln' on your laptop for the times you decide you wanna use it. Mine's getting a bit worn out. And replacements command a hefty premium due to the fact that there was no successor.

My v450 finally died on me (clicks become doubleclicks on the right button). I used it as an excuse to get a G700s, but I was wondering if there's "one weird trick" to clean the button and get some more use out of it? It's still a good mouse and I'd keep it around as a backup.

Got a weird problem with my Logitech G700s (had it around 2 months). It was working fine at Christmas. I just got it and my laptop shipped to where I am. It won't recognise the battery and will only work with the the cable plugged in (so I get that delightful blinking red light). However when it's plugged in, and I put the battery in, the lights all blink green for a few moments before going back to red. So it recognises that a battery has been put in there/ Is it just a case of the battery dying supremely early for some reason? If so, I can just replace it with another rechargeable Ni-MH battery I guess. It's just weird is all.

If it happens to another battery, something might be wrong with your mouse, but, it's probably just a duff battery. One thing I would say is that if you literally *just* got it shipped to you, like today, did it travel through somewhere quite cold and did you let it warm up back to room temperature yet?
