Zoey is the obviously useful one to bring into the team.

Also I love all the Samiritan calculations going on in the episode about if it should legalise weed or not.

Yes and yes. I like Silva, but she just doesn't seem like a team player. And why would the team trust Harper at all for anything at this point? I was actually thinking that she was a Dominic plant near the end.

Is Elias just not hurting innocent people now to stay out of Reese's way? Or just having his friend do that...

Not-Snoop is hilarious, but I'm not sure if I'm sold on her yet. Where's Linc? Also, given enough time Dominic is going to earn his own yellow box, just like Carter. Clever dude.

Nice change with Fusco being kept at arm's length and out of the action after "everything that's happened", and then pretty much becoming Reese's right hand in this episode.

Zoe is boring but Leon is cool and fun. Don't make him a regular or anything, but there should be 2-3 Leon appearances a season.

Hes hurting plenty of people, just not innocent people. I assume they dont care about a gang war as long as people dont die in the crossfire.

Silva would be a great pick, another cop too. That samaritan girl might be flipped as well.

How long is the show slated to continue? I'm consistently surprised by how much I enjoy this show and I want it to continue.

How far into the season had they got before they found out Shahi was pregnant? It seems like her criminal storyline was set up to go somewhere before they had to rejig it.

They found out when they were shooting the first episode. So they prob had the first 6 or so episodes nailed down, scriptwise.

It is pretty obvious Dominic was meant to be Shaw's villain, based on his intro episode and the ep where Shaw finds out who he actually is. Hopefully they will keep him in play till she comes back.

He's not strictly "killing" people which is enough to stay of the machines radar.

He and Elias kind of operate on different terms, at least as far as what they value most. Dominic goes after skill, it looks like, while Elias is loyalty. It absolutely makes sense that Dominic would see "grifter who fleeced my boys and then turned around and got high-rankers in the Cartel arrested" as "useful skill I would like to have at my disposal" first and "trustworthy character to bring into my operations" second. I assume something along these lines (skill vs loyalty) will probably come up again in a future episode whenever Link returns.

The main different between Elias and Dominic is Elias operates in the old school movie gangster kind of way that they tired in real life between the 40's and the 70's (the quiet behind the scenes leg breaking style) where Dominic is very in your face he has to be in public and in control.

I love the fact that John offered Dominic a truce on the same level as Elias and Dominic turned it down.

Actually Dominic asked for it first, but then put the conditions on it that Reese wasn't going to agree to (give him the girl).

I doubt we'll see more of Adria Arjona (Dani Silva) on PoI this year. She's doing six of eight episode on True Detective, so we'll probably see a great deal of her on there. Remember, it's not porn, it's HBO.

03x17 is pretty good so far, Root basically having a breakdown over killing the POI's partners herself years ago is pretty hard to watch.

Yeah it was really powerful.

The Machine/Samaritan conflist is going to be a sight, isn't it? :suspense:

Also I wasn't sure what the thing was she had Harold cobble together. It looked like some sort of wireless-enable hearing aid? So when she got the doctor to jam that whole thing in her head (:stonk:) now she has a permanent connection to the Machine? :stare:

It's a cochlear implant, essentially an artificial ear. It's a real rear end thing that several people have used to regain their hearing. Root had Harold install a chip into it that would allow the machine to integrate its firmware into the implant.

It does have better hardware, but remember God is 11(12 at this point?) years old. Fast chips or not, it most likely has a lot of catching up to do.

Samaritan learns by constantly rewriting and deleting failed code. It basically redesigns itself every time it slips up to try and evolve. Its a constantly trial and error learning process. The machine seems like it was wiped every time it failed based on what Harold wanted it to do so instead its got a hard coded set of principles that Harold has drilled into it that the Machine is constantly checking its own actions and progress against. It doesn't really change itself on a fundamental level it just tries to do everything it can to protect those core principles. Seems like Harold has accidentally given it a conscience such that it keeps its own behaviour in check as much as possible.

Wild card option, the Machine uploaded a chunk of itself onto Samiritan's mainframe and is piggybacking on its hardware using the same missing logic hole used to protect Team Irrelevent. If nothing else the machine seems to have developed a pretty strong sense of creative problem solving and genuinely seems to have a pretty good grasp of human beings. At least compared to Samiritan just setting up ant farms of people to trying and understand them. I can see it taking advantage of hiding amongst things Samiritan would deem unimportant but matters a lot to people to keep going.
