I think at some point Jarno got fired for letting Boobens through in the final chicane at Magny Cours during the last lap.

Yeah, Cristiano da Matta was the first driver (of many) to have his career ruined by driving for Toyota. A shame because he was actually pretty impressive that first year, but things stagnated to the point where he started complaining about the car, and they consequently sacked him. A few years later he hit that deer, was in a coma for a while, but did return to racing eventually. He's been kinda sporadic ever since though.

I'm hearing reports coming out saying that Alonso is completely fine as far as the doctors are concerned.

If that's true, why isn't he racing? Either he's been whacked harder than first thought and McLaren are lying about it, or some other shenanigans are going on to keep Alonso out of the car. Either way I'm annoyed. I really wanted to see Alonso in Australia. :saddowns:
