It was good to see Norm MacDonald norming it up on Dave last night.

I really want to know the punchline for that Bob Uecker joke that got bleeped out.

This is the dumbest possible thing they could have done. Especially with a new host.

The online reviews for corden's first show are coming in and they're almost all positive. I guess I shouldn't be surprised in a day and age when fallon is killing the ratings. I can't wrap my head around it, I found it horrendous.

Looks like CBS want's their version of a fallon, which I guess I can understand from a money-making perspective. I can't see myself ever tuning into this, though. The guy comes across as a blubbing, giggling man girl. They should've given him a giant lollipop and made the image complete. Sure he seems like a nice guy, but he's got all the edge of a ball of dough.
Kunis and Hanks basically did his interview segment for him. What's going to happen on bad guest nights? By the time they got to the dumb "game" segment I thought "Here we go.." and couldn't stomach any more of it.

On a nice note, I do like the set. And who doesn't love Reggie Watts? But, I'm still scratching my head as to why he's there. It's not like they knew each other, as far as I can tell they have zero rapport. I know it was his first show and all but I just don't see how this can ever become more than just a sum of all its parts thing. Nothing about it makes sense to me or comes across as anything worth getting into.

At least in the interim period we got some fantastic episodes from the guest hosts. Gaffigan, Apatow and Lennon all did great shows and any one of these would have been far superior in the role.

I don't know what a giggling man girl is, or whatever, and I don't really know what people want from a show like this. Do American talk shows always have to have the same format? Hosts with giant egos telling bad jokes and then interviewing people one-to-one just long enough for them to plug whatever it is they're doing? How can anyone bear to watch that four nights a week?

Although the most effective part of this formula on Norton is that his third guest is always a comedian, which really helps in making sure the group dynamic is entertaining.

As far as first shows go it was good enough. I get what CBS are doing now though - putting an adult up against Fallon and then British-Fallon up against Meyers. Makes sense.

The fact that it's like the other shows is part of the complaint.

Honestly what I want is just more Craig being random and goofy.
