I don't think they were much better, it was about as close to 50/50 as you can get. South Africa had the worse of the conditions and it's always favourable batting second with D/L, but that's their own fault for choosing to bat first.

Maybe but there is just something not that convincing about south africa at the moment. There quicks are a bit of the flat side. If they had won the game it would be suicidal to play philander on the MCG against India or Australia.

Most teams are pretty equal now days
