Marge, I'd like to be alone with the sandwich for a moment.

Are you going to eat it?

...yes...
I mean don't get me wrong I like Clockwork Orange but I don't think I've ever recommended it to a person that I didn't know was down with that kind of thing.

I mean it's like say Videodrome, I've got an original framed poster for it in my "office" but I've never once in like the 15 years we've been together said to my wife "hey we should watch Videodrome" cuz I know that would just result in some looks I don't want to experience... Now my mom? Sure lets Drome it up! Gotta know your audience.

Hey hey hey who likes surreal art Westerns? Cause I saw Jauja last night and it ruled. Ultra-pretty academy ratio cinematography, Viggo Mortenson slowly going mad in the desert and bizarro Patagonian landscapes:

Reminded me of El Topo.

So, uh, The X-Files is coming back.

Six episodes, probably a summer 2016 release.

I really want to see what they'll do with the nature of how conspiracy has changed since the 90s, with everything becoming so vitriolic, conservative, and desperate - i.e. truthers. The very nature of the flow of information and access to data has essentially killed the idea of cryptids and abduction hysteria, so it could be interesting how they show all of that existing even more on the fringe. I also hope it's not purely conspiracy tie-up and they bring in some real monster weirdness.

Man, we're gettin' some new Twin Peaks and new X-Files? Pretty loving awesome.

Plus 6 seems like a good episode number. It'll let them do their government conspiracy arc, have it wrap up and make sense, and give us some weekly monsters.

Agreed, but it's too obvious. It would feel like pandering to me, a desperate attempt to feel internet-relevant. That sort of thing could fly in the 90s when chupacabra (a comparable modern-day, internet-fueled legend) was something far outside of the mainstream and only really known to people looking for it, but these days I'd rather they do something a bit more inventive.
