The incriminating logs that must not be saved are saved automatically in response to a FBI raid. You asked for bitcoins, Carl. I give you the D... P... R.

Tipps posted:What the gently caress is a "Brainwallet" ? Is that sperg-speak for "an encryption passphrase I remember instead of engraving onto a block of wood" ? Basically, instead of remembering a non-sensical password, you remember some phrase (in your brain, thus brainwallet. Do you get it? do you?) which is then fed to some online algorithm to generate the password. As can be expected as soon as you do so the dudes at the brain-wallet site* keep a copy of your keys and monitor the relevant bitcoin address until you're stupid enough to deposit some butts into it. And then you get the "I lost my butts! but my brainwallet was really safe! How!?" posts. (note: It usually is not how) *Even if they don't do so, 99% of brainwallets are paragraphs from Atlas shrugged, or that one from XKCD

Not going to link the whole thing but pages 41-43 of the complaint relates to at least one of the silk road murder-for-hires that ulbricht has yet to be charged with A SR admin named CG was was caught delivering cocaine and was flipped by a team including the 2 agents, Force and Bridges, charged with stealing from DPR. On jan 25th, CG showed Bridges how to login an do vendor password and pin resets. THAT SAME NIGHT, the Silk Road website suffered a serious of major vendor thefts. All these thefts were via ... password and pin resets. On Jan 26th, CG continued to debrief the cops on how to to Silk Road admin stuff. Bridges left early that day and was not present. Later that day, DPR caught wind of the thefts and contacted a major drug dealer name Nob to have CG (who was actually Bridges) killed. Law enforcement contacted the real CG who denied the attacks. DPR knew is was the CG account because there's logs for password resets of course. The major drug dealer Nob happened to actually be the other DEA agent, Force. DPR paid Nob (Force) $80k to have CG (Bridges) killed. Force then helped the real CG stage death photos. It then goes on to establish proof that Bridges transferred out at least 20,000 bitcoins into another account that Force owned to be liquidated through his shell company.
