Question for you zerker pros. What is there a practical use of the default blade over the perk melee weapons when you actually have them in your possession? you can start with/buy? What do you think the practical purpose will be in KF2? I think it's good to have that standby weight free melee no matter what, I'm just curious if there is a point where a Zerker would want to is it over the other melee weapons if you have them equipped. Fun stuff like "Zerker's gunna buy GUNS!" and having a basic blade that hurts more than anybody else's is cool but not quite what I mean. I know waaaay back when I was playing The Specialists mod for half life, I preffered the combat knives over the katana because of how much faster they were, not just that I could throw them, and carry a stack of them so when people kung fu kicked my weapon out of my hand I just pulled out my 4th knife. PS: I would probably pay money for a Killing Floor Developer made DBZ mod. I'd be tempted by a beta key but I'd just waste it from getting distracted even if I didn't have "lay off the gaming levels of index finger usage, you idiot" stuff goin on right now. You are doing Goon God's work testing this game for the masses ASAP, key grabbers.

Hey Questioner86/Turnways, is there any lingering NDA rules on posting screenshots from the beta through Steam? I wanted to show some pals the slick server browser/matchmaking lobby hybrid setup, but steam defaulted to making the screenshot hidden and I was scared of breaking a rule by making it public. ![]()

I lowered resolution a bit to 1440×900 and it now runs between 30-90 fps. Still lots of harsh drops. CPU optimization please save me. I'm having a lot of fun when it runs properly though.

The ultimate Berserker weapon in the preview videos had 10 weight and both fire modes ran on limited ammo, so I guess if you're using that it's a good idea to use your basic knife-equivalent on trash enemies? Unless you can actually fit the Eviscerator and the shovel on a Berserker, weight wise.

That boss looks pretty cool, looks like teamwork will be even more important to free someone. That also means they might be harder to solo.

So the UI for finding a game is radical. You can choose to use matchmaking or a server browser, but either one still lets you invite your pals so you can join as a group. Admittedly, I seem to be encountering a bug where I cannot join any game through either matchmaking or the browser, but my buddy was able to just fine so I'm thinking there's maybe some weird port action going down on my end. What's really cool though is you can spectate a game going on on a full server, so I was able to watch my buddy get his murder on while I tried to figure out what was going wrong on my end.

Is there a list of confirmed guns in KF2? Particularly I wanna know if the lever action rifle is in, because that was my tots favorite gun.

The game feels a lot harder. Clot grabs are really distracting now, Gorefasts have some new(?) moves and are faster (can't seem to outrun them as easily), Spiders actually do come out of loving nowhere now, Invisible Ladies are a lot harder to see, Scrakes are a lot more buff, faster and have new moves. Fleshpounds are fuckin scary now, can't switch to your knife and outrun them for example. They'll really gently caress you up.. Sirens seem kind of weaker though, their screams don't do as much damage. Fat dudes don't explode all the time on death, but they do have cleavers.

The server browser looks great and a lot smoother than the KF1 one! Also, I get the feeling that a bit of KF2's current difficulty is because it's new. Once people have figured out the new enemy behavior and camp spots, it shouldn't be that much more difficult than KF1.

Is the normal amount of waves 7 or 10? I always played on 10 wave servers, but I imagine without the need for warm-up waves anymore 10 might be a bit long (more blood for the blood god).

IIRC in KF1 the Steam Achievements were linked to the Long (i.e. 10 wave) games? So I never saw the point of the 7 wave games.
