Looking back what do you guys think of Pusha's My Name Is My Name? I liked it when it first came out but jesus christ talk about the whole (Clipse) being greater than the sum of its parts. What's Pusha up to anyway?

I always thought Malice was the stronger of the two and made it work. I enjoyed his album from awhile back. Pusha is cool and all but I can't really relate to his lyrics like Malice so a whole solo album of him is a bit much for me

I think Pusha can totally hold his own on a solo album, I feel like the problem with MNIMN is that there were too many features and weird attempts at pop appeal. The album has some really great high points though. Pusha said that his new album is going to have less features so I'm looking forward to it.

MNIMN was a solid first album, with some amazing videos and promotion surrounding it. He's easily my favorite artist, and his delivery is one of the best in hip hop....he makes selling crack/dope sound amazingly cool.

His second album is really going to be good, and Kanye has a real interest in his career (not just being on GOOD music, he knows how good Pusha can be...he made him rewrite his Runaway verse over and over until it was oozing with the maximum bravado possible).

He's changed so much since the Clipse days and is much more of a hardcore type of rapper than the Pharrell/Virginia sound that he had in the beginning. He's in somewhat of his own lane, but right now he just does a million features (which is one of his strong suits, he was also easily the best feature man of 2012/2013).

MNIMN really disappointed me when i heard the full thing BUT and this is a massive but ,

Numbers on the Board was tied with Feds watching for my favourite song that year.

Like it's one my my favourite songs ever. King Push was also really good. So basically for me anyway it blew its load in the first two tracks. But what good two tracks they were

Sorry if we already discussed this, but the Wu Tang Clan's 20th anniversary tour is in London in July and I'm wondering whether it's worth it to buy a ticket. I really liked Sour Soul, but aside from Ghostface I haven't kept up with any of their recent stuff so I have no idea whether the others are still worth listening to. Also didn't they release a million dollar album or something last year? That's some Jay Z poo poo.

Jay Z's Tidal app falls out of iPhone top 700 chart

Tidal has suffered from a turbulent launch in other ways. The company’s CEO was removed last week, in what was described as a “streamlining” move.

No.

I also saw that Tidal had a 4 minute exclusive video of Vic Mensa signing to Roc Nation. What kind of weak rear end exclusive content is that.

Wu was good when I saw them two years ago, despite a really bad crowd. The schedule for the festival was retarded and they got slotted in at 6 p.m. right before some boy band. Ghost and Method Man were highlights. Method Man is his own best hype man

They were mediocre-to-awful when I saw them three years ago but
A. They didn't have Ghostface for some reason
B. Some of them had been sick earlier that week and the show was postponed by four days
C. They had five struggle rappers opening for them

So it might be a different experience for you. They also are unlikely to play more than a few solo songs, and those songs would be from the first wave of solo albums anyway. When I saw them they played one or two songs from Liquid Swords and the obligatory Shimmy Shimmy Ya. Unless they have something special planned for the anniversary.

uhhhhhh its mostly the price really. i listen to my own itunes library when im at home/at work on my laptop so i dont really stream other than when im commuting. when im commuting i wear my girlfriends broken apple headphones that only work out of the left ear. im not going to pay $20 for FLAC quality when i use the headphone equivalent of port-a-potty. im not going to wear headphones that are expensive enough to warrant FLAC quality on a philly subway. if i want to stream music off my phone while i commute id rather use spotify that is

1) cheaper
2) more integrated (like on my ps4 and poo poo)
3) i can put my own music from my hard drive into my playlists (tidal cant do that)
4) i dont use chrome and you p much have to use chrome if you use tidal

but also i use unsubbed/uninstalled spotify too so

This 100 times, all of those tracks go hard as gently caress. The video for King Push bleeds swag too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAFVu_A4OwQ

Snitch is such a brilliant track from such an organic creative origin, who wouldn't love to just be bullshitting with your friends and reminiscing about poo poo and the BOOM a dynamite track emerges out of it....

Pusha is also AMAZING live, I've seen him with Fab and 2 Chainz and Big Sean and he steals the show every drat time. It was funny how many of the really young kids didn't know the lyrics to the classic Clipse songs, but my friends and I were all in tune word for word. His energy is really something else on and off wax.

As a related aside Pusha's extended version of I Don't Like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I56VeRWesr4makes me feel like Ghost in the face of how hype you can get just by listening to it.
