ITS A CONSOLE WAR THE year is 1995, the Fifth Generation of the console wars is ramping up just as the fourth generation is ending. Fancy new machines are being shown off at trade shows with crackpot ideas such as Three D models, Rumble and more. CD-ROM drives are getting faster, Cartridges are getting bigger and full motion video is hitting its peak. Questions are being raised as to who would win in this all-out battle. More and more competitors are rising from unknown depths to challenge those that came before them. The bit wars are here, a full scale poo poo-fight of numbers. 16, 24, 32, 64. These numbers race across marketing departments and television screens across the world.  The number of players in the game will determine the amount of consoles on the field. This image is not a representation of the consoles to be used if the playerbase is less or more than expected. THERE are plans being cooked up, plans to gain marketshare. To some, its the task of winning hearts and minds but to others it is an entirely different business. The business of killing giants. There are consoles out there that look on with envy, confusion and disgust. They want to claim glory, they want the Pac-Man of pie charts Absolute Global Saturation. How do these consoles do that? How does a new kid on the block destroy the new machines from Sega, Nintendo and Sony? How does a kid kill a giant? It takes raw processing power to devise a plan, a plan for survival, a plan for sales and a plan for winning. THE current consoles on the field are both veterans and newbies alike, assume consoles from both the 4th and 5th generation lay in this game.
