I don't have a video of it, and it's more of an unfortunate quirk of the engine, but in Shadow of Mordor your badass ranger/wraith dude that can jump straight up a few stories and can teleport around will, without fail, get hung up on tiny rocks and corners and come to a screeching halt to lean up against them. Every single time. It never fails to crack me up. Kobold eBooks has a new favorite as of 18:26 on May 7, 2015 |

I love shadow of mordor's physics engine. When you get the skill that allows you to instantly mount/dominate the 40' tall ogre things as a ranged action, find one that's behind cover aside from a hand of head or something poking out that you can target and use the skill. The game apparently tries to tween you to where you should be on the mount but it doesn't disable physics so instead you wind up doing a gmod-style smash into whatever's obstructing you and making enough ground contact sounds that the game lags.

Reminds me of an issue in Far Cry 3 I sometimes had where Jason would be unable to bridge a two-inch rise in the ground without jumping and alerting whoever he was trying to sneak up on. This also affected the weapon store in the first village too, so I'd be trying to leap into the door.

Dwarf Fortress develepmont log:quote:If the sparrow man bard visiting the fortress wrote a ballad about his experiences, would he set a lighter mood and sing about how all of the guests took their clothes off and held them in bundles while the dwarven fish cleaner recounted the tale of how the first dwarven queen came to power? Or would he travel the darker road and sing about the human swordsman that attacked the goblin dancer outside the gates, cutting him down without regard for dwarven law?

That will result in a TAS where link will walk to different screens for a while, take some random damage, walk around bit more, then have the "It's dangerous to go alone" guy give him a piece of a bolder or something, Link using it, the screen glitching out and then triggering the end credits.

Hopefully it also results in a playaround where the runner beats both quests and collects two complete triforces on the same savefile while completely breaking the game in half ala that one SMW run.

I just like the variety of effects, from Link being sent to the screeching hell dimension, to Link tripping acid, to the game suddenly playing a remix of sorts of the Dungeon theme with a drum track that isn't usually present while a headless dragon suddenly appears.

I always remembered accidentally talking to the old man when I didn't mean to, and maybe you show it off to someone else and take them to the old man for a catching tutorial. The game was immensely popular so it was only a matter of time before people encountered it and reverse engineered the basics.

I assume at some point a curious person tried it with the old man.

I love that playaround! Agreed that they're entertaining, crazy what people have come up with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t07xYlAc9Uw This video is nuts. Basically he reverse engineers the game to allow an input on controllers 3 and 4 to immediately warp him to the exit of each level. http://tasvideos.org/4252S.html

So the derringer in Space Station 13 got nerfed by taking away the armour-piercing properties of the bullets. In a thread on the forums complaining about the change, this came up.quote:Apparently, AP bullets do the following: So if your armour value is less than 6, you're taking more damage than you would if you didn't have any. Oh, but it gets better. quote:Upon further investigation, most armor are between the values of 1 and 3.
