Big dick painted on road in Belgian national championships, with the balls making up the 'oo' in Boonen. Also, Jurgen Roelandts is wearing #13 and didn't put it on upside down.

Nice win by EBH to catch them like that. Although it looked like he closed the guy out on the sprint, glad the Skybot lost.

Mostly in the commonwealth games when riding for the Isle of Man. My favourite bit was Luke Rowe refusing to help him chase them down until the 2nd to last lap, then pulling Cav right up then promptly getting dropped.

To expand: Interviewer: So you were out there on your own against 3 Sky riders, how did it feel to get the chance to prove yourself without a team around you today? Cav: WELL I DON'T THINK I HAVE TO PROVE ANYTHING TO ANYONE TWENTY FIVE TOUR STAGES ARGLE BARGLE The look on his face was also priceless

I thought once he got up the michaelgate the penultimate time and gapped Rowe and Stannard that he might pull it off, which would have been immensely funny.

Cav put in a pretty solid ride. And he's right, he doesn't have to prove anything. 25 Stage wins, past British National champion, past UCI Road Race champ, etc etc etc. Of course he didn't need to get salty with the interviewer about it, but chalk that up to him just having done a shitload of work and coming up just short. Also, are we supposed to hate him because he used to ride for Sky? I can never tell what the rules are except that we are to love Contador and hate Sagan for inexplicable reasons or something.

Cav is mad because he is short. If he was tall like Kittel he'd be a lot happier.

So if they weren't "jungle juice" powered are we free to assume that Wiggins was clean for the TdF?

Cav doesn't often get to 'race' races. If he ever got into a break or anything, it would instantly stop working, so I think he likes chances to actually do work in a race like this (see also: that tour stage he won in 2013? that quickstep split into echelons in the crosswinds. he was really beaming after that one). He was just a little salty he came up short. (he is short)

There was quite a good interview with him about the sprint on the BBC a while ago. He spends a chunk of it explaining why Renshaw is a better rider than him.

Garmin have reversed their jerseys colours for the tour so we get bright cannondale green back. They've also listed Talansky, Hesjedal and Dan Martin as team leader. Not sure how that works really unless they're purely going for Stage wins since even a podium will be a step too far?

That team selection just seems weird to me. After how the Giro went you would expect them to bring more mountain helpers for Contador but instead they brought Bennati to lead out Sagan, which seems pointless since he'll be against Cav, Kristoff and Greipel in the flat sprints and Bennati won't make it to the final with Sagan on the tougher days. On top of that five of their nine riders (i.e. all of their climbers including Contador) did the Giro this year. Sagan better go ham and win a bunch of stages and the points jersey because it doesn't look great for Alberto.

My only take on it is that there is more potent juice flowing and the domestics will be on their A game. Otherwise they couldn't gently caress up team selection that badly, could they?

All of the team makeups with the exception of perhaps Tinkoff are strong. I'm looking forward to a serious four way battle. Hopefully the weather is nice during the testy sections of the race. I'd rather see uninjured riders going at it than watch all of Nibali's competition crash out due to terrible weather leaving him to dominate the Tour in the most boring way. Last year there was more drama in whether or not Maijka was going to win the mountains classification than in the GC.
