The album is heavy as gently caress and the new vocalist kills on it! Not that Quantos was a bad record by any means, but yeah this is great! Hopefully it doesn't take Infernus another 6 years to deliver another album.

Instinctus Bestialus loving slays, diggin the new vocals and return to crunchy hate.

The only song that I thought was particularly memorable on Quantos was Human Sacrifice.

Oh baby I love black/speed/thrash whatever like this. It reminds me of why I loved punk rock when I was a teenager, and is what I would have killed to know about way back then. You guys got any more recommendations of stuff similar to this, nocturnal, witchburner, etc?

Syphilitic Vaginas, Shitfucker, probably stuff like Barbatos as well. Midnight maybe. The first two bands I mentioned are strongly influenced by G.I.S.M, who were a really cool japanese hardcore band with metal tendencies, they're very good and may be worth checking out as well. Some of the more rock oriented black/thrash bands appeal to a similar place I think, like these guys for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GgNvOadWi8

It can be a bit hit-or-miss if things hit the vibe you like, but a few that Iike:

Manzer - On the black/thrash side, but cleaned up and rocking. I'm not sure which track to pick to best represent the album, as the first one is more on the black metal side, the second shows the speed/thrash bit more, the fourth one is the catchiest (and would make Abigail blush) and the sixth is an awesome instrumental anthem that channels Iron Maiden's Transylvania. If the first track doesn't click, skip to the second.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqs2SafWXD8

Gatekrashor - Rough speed metal a bit reminiscent of Piledriver. Not really black, but it really has that vibe like Terrorhammer more than Manzer.

Infiltrator - Do I even need to say anything once you've heard a bit of it?

Hells Headbangers' bandcamp compilations have some choice material too. Seconding the Barbatos and Shitfucker recs. If your guitars sound like your throat feels after you vomit, you're doing it right.

Nothing obvious springs to mind. For me it's a natural evolution of Darkthrone's sound on Under A Funeral Moon. There are a bunch of blackened hardcore bands around, but they tend to take influence from Converge style hardcore as opposed to punk/oi. I think Akitsa are pretty unique and definitely the best at pulling off this sorta sound.

They're so all over the place musically it's worth trying a few releases to start. Shores, Cast to the Pits and Eleven Fingers would cover most of the sounds they've touched on over the years.
