All in all a good first session for Australia. Regarding Smith his feet are moving which is the main thing but he isn't getting near the ball and his timing is awful. England are bowling good lines to him. It can be tempting to try and get him LBW but he uses that as a release shot so just keeping it outside off is the way to go. He is pretty relaxed for a modern day batsman but all modern day players like to feel the ball on the bat.

Anderson and McGrath played similar amounts of tests in each other country. McGrath played 14 tests in England and Anderson has played 13 in Australia. Anderson has taken 43 wickets @ 38 in Australia. His strike rate is 69 and he has never taken a 5 wicket haul. McGrath took 87 wickets @ 19.34 in England. His strike rate was 39 and he took a 5 wicket haul or better 8 times. Both are absolute jerks on the field. EDIT I wrote the wrong numbers lol

Obviously I hate James Anderson and all that he stands for but he is a solid bowler. Would be a good partner with an elite fast bowler. He has had to carry England for ages in the fast bowling department he has been bowled a lot which has probably hurt his career. He is certainly very good in England and I expect him to give us a hiding at least one test this tour the bastard. Book him in for a 10 wicket haul at Trent Bridge but he is the odd man out in the top wicket taker list. He just went past Ambrose who is with McGrath in the top fast bowlers ever. Height and accuracy >>>>> swing EDIT Basically I think in an ideal world Broad would be leading the attack with Anderson feeding from that.
