my favorite game was harvest moon 64. my sisters and I would play it as kids. the day we got Maria to a blue heart we were all home sick from school and we flipped out.

This was also my sister's and my go to game. I always went with Ellie though. Good times.

Has no one mentioned Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, and Majora's Mask for good tunes cause they all have good tunes. Most Zelda games thanks to music being a part of the game have great music. I always liked the songs in Windwaker too.

I mentioned ocarina!! majora's mask was only okay for music though despite being the artistically way more interesting game. I never played wind waker as that's about when we all lost interest in consoles and became socially very different people.
Wind Waker is very good, but I can't help but think more highly of the older games, just for having to work under such heavy constraints. All these songs we're linking were made on sound chips barely more advanced than a fancy calculator. David Wise is a loving wizard for getting all that out of an SNES.

Besides, the best Gamecube soundtrack is and will forever be Metroid Prime 2, so it's not even worth bringing up.

TWIST! What is the worst video game soundtrack? It has to be a reasonably high-budget or high-profile game, no trotting out shovelware you got in a bargain bin.

Personally, I'd say that Shining Force 2, despite being a much better game in general, had way worse music. And that's saying something. Shining Force 1 had very NES-ish music, but that had a certain charm. SF2 just sounded like they let somebody play with a synthesizer and recorded whatever sounded like music.

Ok I'm doing this. 9 times even maybe. It'll be series or something to be completely eventually. I've discovered Crazy eyes Legends of the Hidden Temple V game whose first post I'm going to plagiarize, but after a challenge is issued is there a deadline for the plurality execution? And I'm warning up-front that might be hard for me to do flips for since I'm not in a helpful timezone, I may need a co-mod to take of that if it's an issue.

Intelligent and bright, they explored a world that was new and strange to them. They liked it, they thought - a whole world just for them! They were dimly aware that a God had created them, was watching them; they called out to him, thanking him in a chittering language, before running off.
I pretty much skipped Harvest Moon 64. I played the SNES game to death, and then the PS1 Harvest Moon to death.

A Winner is you!
The only N64 games I have ever played were super mario 64 and goldeneye so, I mean I don't have a very big frame of reference.

But my favorite video game soundtrack of all time was Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross (What chrono cross lacked in being as good as chrono trigger it made up in spades by its great soundtrack.)

These are my favorite selections from each.

An excellent set of game soundtracks are the Ar Tonelico Hymnos albums. The base OSTs for the trilogy are ok, but the Hymnos albums are all beautiful. I don't have any idea how a game designer got the budget to do them, but they're lovely and amazing.
