[SteamQud July 21, 2015] *Moved every remaining event to the event pooling system. What could go wrong? *Fixed a really stupid memory leak with the event pool, sheesh. *Fixed a really insidious bug where silent & cancelled flags wouldn't always get properly reset in event pool events *The ammo magazines of clone's missile weapons should properly have their contents cloned instead of referenced from the source object. This probably didn't entirely break the object copying system. *Clones now wait for their entire body to finish materializing before trying to equip stuff. This also probably didn't entirely break the object copying system. Seriously no-one caught this bug in 11 years? *Updated pathfinding to no-longer allocate as much garbage on the heap. This probably didn't entirely break pathfinding. *Farmer's daughters are now slightly less captivating.

(i recognize those last two contradict.) i don't have any real answers for those problems, which is one of the reasons I stepped away from the game. hacking on a 18-year-old roguelike design gets really tiring after a while. on the gripping hand: both those areas and those gods are totally optional. just putting that out there...

I'd sum up Crawl as being too big for it's britches at this point. It just feels bloated and unfocused, especially compared to the newer more modern takes on the genre.

So in CoQ I have yet to see Kindle actually ever set anything on fire, even if I drop it directly on something reasonably flammable like a tree or a brinestalk fence. Am I doing something wrong or is it really only good for remote illumination?

It does raise its square's temperature significantly (just not enough to set anything on fire, it seems to wobble around 100) so I guess that's nice if you're at risk of getting frozen.

So the patch that just dropped seems to be making it so that items take on the names of whatever fits inside of them, I just found a Small trinket (small trinket) that renamed itself Joppa recoiler when i removed the cell and spawned with two Lead Slugs with six Lead Slugs in them.

After a little dicking around you can actually set things on fire with two stacked Kindles, which is not feasible in a combat situation but at least it's something?

For the record: it has 500 hp, 31 str and counts as a consortium leader. If you did manage to kill him you'd probably piss out the shop in Kyakukya. And it looks like all plants inherit MentalShield from the base plant type.
