If I had to kill Clarents why wouldn't I have killed you and Hal ages ago? I went after scum. I only went after scum, I even defended Clarent as town+ (to the scum, incidently) in thread.

I'd be pretty hosed up if I was just in it to kill Clarent and defended Clarent at literally every turn.

Except today. BUT THEN I DID LATER.

With daybreak revealed another murdered person - Vivienne, personal maid to the Lady herself, was eaten alive during the night. She seems to have put up quite the struggle but in the end she could not overcome the beast.

:s: fiery_valkyrie, Vivienne, Lady's Maid (town-aligned naive cop), was hungered by a wolf night 6. :s:

When Andrei finished changing back into a man (though he was no more than a boy, really), he was surprised to find the gate to the stables locked from the outside. He banged on the door for a few seconds before he smelled smoke. The hay had been crudely lit on fire, and despite the rains from the previous day, the barn itself was quite dry. The fire spread quickly, and soon Andrei knew... he was cooked.

:s: Gamerofthegame, Andrei, Stable Boy (town-aligned overeager vigilante), was endgamed. :s:

===================

Lady Clarent had a problem. Her two sons - the two people she loved and trusted and believed in most in the world - have been murdered. Her house has been gutted of its servants, save for some simpering Livireen who spends his time writing poetry and drinking sherry and can't cook or clean worth a drat. And with winter coming, it would be physically impossible for her to find a lover, marry him, and produce an heir before the spring.
But, those weren't her problem. Everybody dies some day, and she can always acquire new children and servants. No, her problem was the chained-up figure before her. After the diresome happenings last week, what with the servants starting a witch hunt (and giving the village Undertaker business to last him for a lifetime), it seemed that Lady Georgette's plot might have succeeded. But despite the death of her children, Clarent managed to crawl out of the darkness alive and unscathed. She ordered her knights to bring her Georgette by force, and now, here Georgette was, beaten to a pulp and in chains at the foot of Lady Clarent's chair. What should she do with her?
On the one hand, executing her seems appropriate. She is a kinslayer, having murdered Christophe, Laurence, and Robert. And it would be very satisfying, too, watching her sister's face shriek in terror as she was slowly buried alive. Or maybe drawn and quartered, or just placed in a gibbet and left to rot, or dunked in water, chained to a tree, and left in the woods to freeze (or be eaten by wolves and carrion first). There were just SO many possibilities.
And yet, Clarent couldn't do it. Georgette murdered her family, plotted to ruin her life, and seemed to feel no remorse or shame for her actions. But she was still her sister, and she still loved her, as she knew Georgette loved her in kind. And mercy is one of the highest virtues, after all. To show true compassion and forgiveness in the face of such a monster... wouldn't that be the best revenge?
Georgette was exiled from Mereaux and sent to an Arrentish prison in the Ruzelian wastes. She died within a year when she fell down a ditch and cracked her skull on a stone. Georgette's eldest daughter, the meek Carise de Pêche, quietly acquired title over the Juniper Hills and never again bothered her aunt or her family. Indeed, the only time she ever even considered visiting Peachtree Hall was to attend Clarent's funeral many decades later, and she was given a stern but polite demand to stay the hell away. Clarent managed to find a lover in a strapping Count from the Island of Gerzy, and with him bore two beautiful girls: Ava and Bethany. She died of old age surrounded by loving family (and very, very, very loyal servants).
"Lady Clarent the Indomitable" it said at the entrance to her tomb.

ROLE PMS:

Amoeba102 - Richard Villapond - Corrupt Steward (mafia-aligned godfather)
Betraying the mistress was an easy thing. To outsiders of Peachtree Hall, Lady Clarent seems like the perfection of Mereaux Nobility - kind, beloved, witty, and with a pleasant laugh. It's what attracted you to her employ in the first place. But the servants who actually work under her know the truth. She demands obedience and she will never forget to assert her authority over the staff at any disagreement, going so far as to ridicule and demean a servant for daring to suggest another plan. And she is as cruel as she is haughty! She gives love and attention but solely for affection in turn: if a servant shows apathy (or even dislike) for the Lady, her love turns sour and soon the servant inevitably finds themselves the butt of scorn and rumor. Clarent's manner to those beneath her on the social ladder does not reflect a genteel lady, but rather an arrogant slattern.
So when Clarent's sister, Lady Georgette, sought conspirators for a plot to take over the Hall, you happily responded. Georgette may be ruthless and ambitious, but she is known for her generosity for all, regardless of station, and would be a far better Countess. If you have to murder half the house to get there, well, omelets and all that.

You are a mafioso! You seek to eliminate Clarent's household and loyal staff, and as such win when only mafia-aligned players are left in the game or nothing can stop the same. The team consists of: Amoeba102, The Ninth Layer, QuoProQuid, WalrusWhiskers, and WHICH WAY MADNESS. All of you are confirmed to be of the same alignment and may freely communicate OOT, except for WWM, who is deep undercover and cannot be spoken to OOT for any reason. He may send you a message every night though so that's good. Your team has the normal power of posting and voting in the thread, and have a single, collective, recurring nightkill that may be performed in lieu of any other night actions.
Additionally, you specifically were the steward to the house. A very prestigious position, you have been close to the Lady for many years, and as such you know better than anyone how terrible she can be. You've orchestrated the plot against her on behalf of Georgette and are the mastermind behind every turn. You tripped the wire that caused the chandelier to fall on the Lady's husband Robert; you stabbed the head chef Jocasta when she stumbled onto your plot; and you hope to be the one to put the final blow on Clarent herself when her time is due.
Since the Lady trusts you implicitly and without a doubt, any investigation into your intentions will turn up innocent (i.e. Godfather!). You are also the brains behind the operation, and if you were to ever disappear the team would be in chaos; should you ever be executed (but NOT nightkilled), your entire scumteam will be unable to perform any actions the subsequent night (beloved princess-ish! ecco! so wacky!).
You are a godfather and you are mafia-aligned.

The Ninth Layer chaoslord - Sylvanus Gaspar - Corrupt Cook (mafia-aligned jailor)
Betraying the mistress was an easy thing. To outsiders of Peachtree Hall, Lady Clarent seems like the perfection of Mereaux Nobility - kind, beloved, witty, and with a pleasant laugh. You specifically are one of the cooks in the household! The Lady was not a picky eater, but she demanded perfection, an inhuman level of perfection, and on more than one occasion she threw a perfectly good plate food - a plate over which you had slaved for HOURS - into your face and subsequently onto the ground. If anyone in this world deserves a good being killed, it's her. And despite her mistreatment, you actually are a good chef, such that you can make food that has been tastelessly poisoned or improperly made, resulting in an awful night of diarrhea and vomiting. You can subtly give these devious delicacies to a player at supper, keeping them from their nightly duties and locking their door so they aren't disturbed in their misery (i.e. jailing).
You are a jailor and you are mafia-aligned.

QuoProQuid - Jobert - Corrupt Groundskeeper (mafia-aligned dayvig)
Betraying the mistress was an easy thing. To outsiders of Peachtree Hall, Lady Clarent seems like the perfection of Mereaux Nobility - kind, beloved, witty, and with a pleasant laugh. It's what attracted you to her employ in the first place. But the servants who actually work under her know the truth. You are the groundskeeper; you've been tending to the gardens and orchards for over a decade, and though you've nurtured the plants well, the Lady could not care less. Sure she strolls through the garden from time to time and reads a book under the birch tree, but does she ever give you even a passing "thank you"? Did she let you take time off when your back gave way and even sitting up was painful? Did she even consider your feelings when she ordered the strawberry bushes to be cleared? No. Never once. She should show you and the rest of the servants more respect, not the least of which because you're a veteran, and you still have your spears, and you know how to use them. During the day you may publicly kill another player in the game with "##spear <player>" (i.e. a dayvig). You may do this twice, however, at least one of your daykills MUST be on a scumbuddy - that's how they did it in the military. (Though in retrospect maybe that's how it was so easy for Arrentia to conquer Mereaux? No matter.)
You are a dayvig and you are mafia-aligned.

Which Way Madness - Denis - Corrupt Valet (mafia-aligned traitor)
Betraying the mistress was an easy thing. To outsiders of Peachtree Hall, Lady Clarent seems like the perfection of Mereaux Nobility - kind, beloved, witty, and with a pleasant laugh. It's what attracted you to her employ in the first place. But the servants who actually work under her know the truth. She demands obedience and she will never forget to assert her authority over the staff at any disagreement, going so far as to ridicule and demean the servant for daring to suggest another plan.

You are all confirmed to be of the same alignment, however, you specifically, Shitty_wok, are not allowed to communicate to the rest of the scumteam freely - you are embroiled in an intimate conflict in the servant's quarters, and you cannot risk speaking to your comrades so openly lest your cover be blown. They know who you are though and they know your situation, so don't worry too strongly. You may, during the night, in addition to any other action you may have, send a message to the scumteam that I will pass along. The message must not be more than 20 words or 140 characters, whichever is less. Be careful what you include in the message though - there is a chance a third party may read it, and something too compromising could be dangerous.
As I said above, you live in a special area of the house for the servants adjoining the main bedchambers, working and sleeping in the same room with four other members of the upper staff: fiery, Spoonsy, merk, and Puntification. You do not know their alignments nor they yours, but you all may speak freely OOT throughout the game. You are aware that the four of them are all some variation of a cop, but that they each have differing sanities. It would behoove you to pretend to be a cop like them, if only so you don't stick out.
To thwart them you have access to four magical artifacts: a beautiful EMERALD, a pair of ZILLS, a small wooden STAG, and a white CANDLE. During the night you may ##USE an artifact, or pass it off to someone else through ##DISCARD <player>. You do not know what each of the artifacts do, but the list of possibilities are as follows: ROLEBLOCK, REDIRECT, MILLER, or KILL. Artifacts may only be used once, and you may not use more than one per night.
I hope this is all clear! To summarize: you cannot chat with your scumteam OOT, but you may send them a short message each night. You are masons with a bunch of other players. You have access to four one-shot powers to help you. Cool!
You are a traitor and you are mafia-aligned.

If they ask for a role PM from you for some reason, here is a fakeclaim:

Which Way Madness - Denis - Valet (town-aligned cop)
As the personal valet to Lady Clarent's recently-deceased husband, you have gotten to know the couple closely, and though they have their dark moments, you would never begin to consider betraying their trust in you. Now with the household in revolt and murder on everyone's lips, you need to do what you can to keep everyone together and get through this alive.
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
As the late Robert's personal valet, you are living in the upper staff's quarters in a closed off portion of the Hall from the rest of the riff-raff. You and four other players - Puntification, fiery, merk, and Spoonsy - share the same tight space together, and may speak freely OOT. You are not sure of their alignments, nor they yours.
Additionally, as a skilled and intelligent servant, you have a lot of insight into people's souls. During the night you may investigate a player in the game and be told if they are TOWN or SCUM.
You are a cop and you are town-aligned.

WalrusWhiskers - Constance - Corrupt Servant (mafia-aligned goon)
Betraying the mistress was an easy thing. To outsiders of Peachtree Hall, Lady Clarent seems like the perfection of Mereaux Nobility - kind, beloved, witty, and with a pleasant laugh. It's what attracted you to her employ in the first place. But the servants who actually work under her know the truth. She demands obedience and she will never forget to assert her authority over the staff at any disagreement, going so far as to ridicule and demean the servant for daring to suggest another plan. And she is as cruel as she is haughty! She gives love and attention but solely for affection in turn: if a servant shows apathy (or even dislike) for the Lady, her love turns sour and soon the servant inevitably finds themselves the butt of scorn and rumor. Clarent's manner to those beneath her on the social ladder do not reflect a genteel lady, but rather an arrogant slattern.

As a lowly servant, you have few skills that would help advance this murderous conspiracy, but you're willing to do whatever you can.
You are a goon and you are mafia-aligned.

Spoonsy - Lady Clarent - Lady (Clarent-aligned sane cop)
Some people just need to know their place. You know well that you're not perfect; sometimes you can be too hard on someone for a simple mistake, or you fail to give people the appreciation and thanks they deserve. But they're the *help*. You give these people employment, food, housing, safety, a steady income - complete strangers! - in exchange for their loyalty and service. And this is how they repay you? By murdering your husband and chef and threatening your very life and the lives of your children? Well Georgette is in for a treat because you have a plot of your own in the works. As you sit at the dining table in Peachtree Hall the gears in your brain are cranking.
The only people you can really trust are your two sons, Christophe and Laurence. As long as the three of you are around things will be okay, and Georgette's scheme will not succeed. Then there's Georgette: she desires your house and your titles and your wealth, and though she will never get it, you can't find it within yourself to hate her. She is your sister, and you know she loves you as you love her. Which is why she must be destroyed, her plots unraveled, and her allies given the sword. No, the real problem is the uppity servants, head staff... the better help. You've coddled them without properly considering their character and disposition. The conspirators must obviously be executed for treason, but so too must the rest of your staff, as a warning to the rest and to prevent lurking disloyalty. The lower servants - they are harmless. Keep them around. But everyone else? *dramatic slicing motion with finger across neck*

You are Lady Clarent of Peachtree Hall, Countess of Anaïse! You seek to ensure a future for you and your sons by culling your household of its villains, and as such, win when only Clarent-aligned and vanilla town players are left in the game (or nothing can stop the same), and at least one member of the family is still alive. The family consists of: Spoonsy (Lady Clarent), Quinquereme (Christophe), and wins32767 (Laurence). The three of you are confirmed to share the same alignment and may speak freely OOT throughout the game. You are aware going into this game that there are exactly 6 vanilla town players.
You specifically my dear Spoonsy are also something special. Part of Clarent's scheme to eliminate her household staff involved disguising herself as a maid and intermingling among the upper servantry. You are currently also masons with the following players: merk; fiery_valkyrie; Puntification; and WHICH WAY MADNESS. You do not know their alignments, nor they yours, but you do know that none of them are vanilla and as such must all be destroyed.
As the head of the household you know your servants better than they know themselves. During the night you may target a player in the game and be told if they are TOWN or SCUM.
You are a cop and you are Clarent-aligned.

Note: if for some reason you need a fakeclaim, feel free to use the following.

Spoonsy - Clementine - Handmaid (town-aligned cop)
You have always been the type to just put your head down and get your job done. Rocking the boat is nice for other people, you're content just letting problems wash over you. You were hired into the employ of Lady Clarent when you were very young, and she has always been a kind and fair boss. She liked your work-first attitude and rewarded you with selecting you to be her handmaid. So when some of the other servants decided to revolt and murder the Lady and her family, well, that just will not do.
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are also a member of the upper staff of servants, and share a room and wing of the Hall with four others: merk, fiery_valkyrie, Puntification, and WHICH WAY MADNESS. The five of you may speak freely OOT, however you do not know their alignments nor they yours.
You are also a skilled reader of human intentions. You can think about one of the other servants and figure if they are a hardworker like you (TOWN) or a lazy good-for-nothing traitor (SCUM).
You are a cop and you are town-aligned.

wins32767 - Laurence - Elder Son (Clarent-aligned rolecop)
Mother has always been good to you; ever since you were little you've been sickly. You always have a small fever, or a rasping cough, or find moving short distances to be inherently tiring. The servants, even the most patient and kind, eventually get exhausted from handling you, and some even snap at you, demanding that you just "get better" (like it was that easy). But Mother never has. The love and affection she dotes on you and your brother, and really the entire household, inspires you to be a better person. So when you heard that some of the servants have decided to revolt and murder you, your brother, and Mother, you knew you would need to rise up to the challenge and stop them.
You are Laurence de Pêche, elder son of Lady Clarent of Peachtree Hall! You seek to ensure a future for you and your family by culling your household of its villains, and as such, win when only Clarent-aligned and vanilla town players are left in the game (or nothing can stop the same), and at least one member of the family is still alive.
Though physically weak, you personally have nurtured your mind into a sharp tool of discovery, and even know a few powerful magick spells (well, for your age). You can investigate a player in the game and discover their abilities: you will be told whether someone is a POWER ROLE or VANILLA. Furthermore, if you investigate a player and receive a VANILLA result, you will cast a quick protection spell on them during the night, saving them from harm. If you receive a POWER ROLE result, you will summon a fireball and shoot it into their room, hopefully killing them. (Note that your protection power also works on other Clarent-aligned players.)
You are a rolecop and you are Clarent-aligned.

Quinquereme - Christophe - Younger Son (Clarent-aligned mason recruiter)
You have a mom her name is Clarent. She is great and smart and funny and nice. She gives you crackers and cheese when you are sad. Sometimes you hear people say mean things about mom and that makes you sad. Sometimes you beat them up and that makes you feel better, but mom says you can't do that no more because it is bad for business. She is so nice she does not mind people say mean things. But then someone killed dad and that made you really sad. You want to beat up every one now. Beat them all up.
You are Christophe de Pêche, younger son of Lady Clarent of Peachtree Hall! You seek to ensure a future for you and your family by culling your household of its villains, and as such, win when only Clarent-aligned and vanilla town players are left in the game (or nothing can stop the same), and at least one member of the family is still alive.
You are the younger son and are known to be quite the well-intentioned brute whose wet nurse drank a little too much wine when caring for you. But with your family's guidance you can use your strength and loyalty to your advantage - during the night you may target a player in the game. If the player is a VANILLA TOWN, you will recruit them into a masonry and change their alignment to Clarent-aligned. If the player is NOT VANILLA, your recruitment will fail, and a member of your masonry will die. If there are no recruits, this means YOU will die! So be careful!
You are a mason recruiter and you are Clarent-aligned.

Squiggly - Julianus Bäte - Butler (town-aligned governor)
Life is about order and structure, and it is propriety and custom that acts as the glue holding it together. Without these things life would be chaos. Part of the custom is the traditional Mereaux manor system: the Lady at the top, her steward second, and her Butler third. That's you. You've spent a lifetime of service to noble houses all throughout Vercy, but Peachtree Hall, nestled in the beautiful hills of Anaïse, is the most prestigious. You earned your title through hard work and dedication. Sure, Lady Clarent can be hard and cold sometimes, but that is your place in life - she is above you and you below. And you're not about to compromise a lifetime of achievements and success just to let some pretender into the Hall. You must defend Clarent's title from her conspirators at all costs.
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are also the head of the staff and third in line at running the entire household. Your word is as good as law. During the day, if the town successfully votes to execute a particular player, you may privately PM me to have the execution canceled. All votes will be reset, and the day will continue if there is still time before the scheduled deadline. You may only do so twice, and never on yourself, but you may save the same person multiple times. You also may, once per game, accelerate a vote that is halfway to execution. This will end the day prematurely with the selected player being executed (unless you choose to save them which would be so needless but idk games can get weird sometimes).
You are a governor and you are town-aligned.

CCKeane - Sebastianus Aris - Sous Chef (town-aligned white mage)
You were, in an earlier life, a peasant living in a small village in the rocky hills and crags of Bishadh. But unlike your companions you always desired something more, something better; you knew in your heart that there had to be more than this provincial life. You always had a knack for cooking, so ran away from home at 16 and traveled to the heart of Arrentia, where you managed to worm your way into courses and schools for the culinary arts. You've spent a lifetime since then practicing and perfecting your craft, melding food with magicks and alchemy, creating tastes heretofore unknown to the exquisite and refined Arrentish palate. You are now the sous chef for a Mereaux noble - Lady Clarent, Countess of Anaïse - and you were hoping the head chef would retire in a few years, letting you finally fulfill your dream. Unfortunately the chef apparently knew too much and got herself murdered. You're set to be promoted but... not like this. Not like this. Now you are left wanting to find the conspirators and whip them a new one, maybe even kick them up a notch - into a noose.
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are also a master chef who has also perfected the art of blending white magick with savory dishes. During the night you may feed a player some food that has been secretly enchanted with healing spells - the player will then find themselves impervious to harm during the night, and also the subsequent night.
You are a white mage and you are town-aligned.

merk - Philobert Endicott - First Footman (town-aligned cop)
Only those who work hard get rewarded in life. The lazy, the indolent, the fat and easily-tired, they find themselves living in poverty, barely able to eke out a meager existence. And they don't even know why! But not you. You have spent your life working hard, first as a lowly groom boy when you were nine years old. You cleaned out the stables from mountains of dung and horse urine, which was even worse in the hot summer Vercy months as that's when the flies swarmed and bit you. Eventually though you were rewarded for your service by getting to work inside, helping with the kitchens and maidstaff. When you were twenty you became a footman, helping Lady Clarent and her husband Robert serve food and entertain guests. Finally, at thirty-one, you have become First Footman. You stand behind the Butler in rank, and represent the estate through your height and handsome build. You have traveled in your short life from swimming in mountains of poo poo to being a respectable member of society, and nobody can ever take that away from you but you.
When you heard rumor of some of the staff threatening to conspire against Clarent and murder her and her family, you were appalled, but you cowardly said nothing, hoping not to rock the boat and risk compromising your position. Now that Robert is dead and the chef too, you realize the folly of your error, and must now work to right your mistakes and bring justice to this house.

You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are also first footman, a very high ranking member of Peachtree's servantry. You live in a special wing of the Hall with some of the other leading staff: fiery_valkyrie; WHICH WAY MADNESS; Spoonsy; and Puntification. You may speak to the four of them freely OOT, though with all the diresome happenings lately you do not know their alignments, nor they yours.
You are also able to leverage your years of hard work into something substantive. During the night you can investigate a player in the game; you can figure out, though hard work and gumption, whether the player is a loyal member of the TOWN, or a vile and villainous SCUM.
You are a cop and you are town-aligned!

fiery_valkyrie - Vivienne - Lady's Maid (town-aligned cop)
It's a funny thing, power. People lord power over others like a cudgel, threatening to wack someone over the head if they don't get their way. But what is power, really? It's just beliefs. We only let people hit us because we believe they can, we only let Ladies and Lords treat us like garbage because we believe we deserve it. When you first met Lady Clarent, you immediately didn't like her. You were finishing the bed in her chambers when she came in, saw you, accused you of doing it wrong, and demanded you start from the beginning. An hour later you apparently still hadn't done it right. By the third time, when she dismissed you from the room and had her handmaid do it for you, you were ready to stab her in the eye. But you didn't. You grinned and bore it. And as the years have gone by, you are happy for your patience, because Clarent - though sometimes cruel - has proven herself a good master. You've become her Lady's Maid, helping her each morning get dressed and prepare for the upcoming duties of the day. You have seen her in the nude countless times, and under her clothing, under her pretensions of power and authority, under her cruelty and bitterness... there is just a human being, no better or worse than anyone else. You understand why conspirators would try to undo her life and her work, but, you're not one of them.
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are also the Lady's Maid, serving her intimate duties behind closed doors where no other servant is allowed. You live in a special wing in the Hall for the rest of the upper staff: Puntification; Spoonsy; merk; and WHICH WAY MADNESS. You may speak with them freely OOT at your leisure, however you're not sure whether they are trustworthy or treacherous.
To assist you in hunting the traitors, you can use your years of seeing the Lady in her intimate moments of weakness, and subsequently seeing behind people's eyes for their deeper intentions. You can investigate a player in the game and be told if they are loyal members of the TOWN or are lying murderous SCUM.
You are a cop and you are town-aligned.

Puntification - Nathanael - Housekeeper (town-aligned cop)
You have a principle in life you've always followed and it has never steered you wrong: don't know something that could get you in trouble. You've had a number of opportunities to become embroiled in politics or drama among your friends and family, and you made a beeline away from them. You got a job as a housekeeper in a quiet manor home in a beautiful countryside solely so you can properly avoid accidentally learning something and putting yourself in any danger. So now that there is apparently a massive conspiracy among the staff you're going to have to try your hardest to keep ignorant and get through this alive.
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are living in a special wing of the manor with a few of the other servants: merk, WHICH WAY MADNESS, Spoonsy, and fiery_valkyrie. You may communicate with them freely OOT, but you don't know their alignment nor they yours.
You are also good at sensing when someone knows something they're not telling. During the night you may target a player in the game and be told if they are an innocent, ignorant TOWNIE, or a lying guilty-conscience'd SCUM.
You are a cop and you are town-aligned.

Gamerofthegame - Andrei - Stable Boy (town-aligned overeager vigilante)
It started a few nights ago. As a stable boy you tend to stay outdoors, living among the horses and cows over whom you tend, and so last week you decided to go for a walk to look at the sky through the branches of the rapidly-dwindling leaves. You found a nice spot down by the creek: a large black limestone along the water, smoothed from millennia of rains and winds. You looked up to count the stars, a soft, meditative experience. You got to two-hundred and thirteen when you were attacked by a great black beast, with eyes glowing red and fangs as long as fingers. It mauled your arm and torso, ripping a solid chunk from your sternum, before fleeing back into the woods. You staggered back to the manor and your friend Auguste, the gamekeeper, was there to help patch you up. You survived, but... at what cost? The next night, and every night since then, you have felt yourself change. You feel hair grow on your body, you feel your mouth extend and fill with teeth, and you get a craving for blood and flesh. Auguste has thankfully been able to keep you trapped in a cage each night so you can't hurt anybody, but, what with all the diresome happenings flooding Peachtree Hall in the past few days, you're not sure how much longer that'll last before the beast within you comes out...
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are also a wild monster! During the night you transform into a ravenous beast that desires to feast on the flesh of the living. You *must* submit the name of a player during the night and you will in turn attempt to perform a vig-kill on them. This will happen every night whether convenient or not. Luckily you have a friend, Auguste (Nth Doctor) who knows and trusts you, and can help you from hurting anyone. You and Nth are confirmed town to each other and may communicate freely OOT at your leisure.
You are an overeager vigilante and you are town-aligned.

Nth Doctor - Auguste - Gamekeeper (town-aligned roleblocker)
You've had your fair share of turns on this planet. You've seen queens rise and fall, you've heard revolutionaries promise change and progress if only you would shield them for a night from the authorities, and you've seen children born, grow old, and die in their time. There is truly nothing new under this sun, and everything that has once happened will happen again and so on into infinity. All you want to do is be left alone with your animals. You are the gamekeeper for Peachtree Hall; you raise foxes and stags and eels and geese for the pleasure of the Lady of the Hall, whomever it may be now. You've done this for many, many years, many more than people suspect and even more than you care to count. You enjoy the solitude with just you, the animals, and one of the stable boys, Andrei.
You were shocked to find Andrei a few nights ago mauled by some kind of beast; he staggered to your hut and collapsed on the floor, his arm and chest a ripped-up mess. You did your best to bandage him up, but you were shocked to find his wounds were rapidly healing. By the end of the night he looked stronger than ever. Now, you consider yourself someone who has seen everything possible in this world, and you haven't felt surprise in centuries. So you were shocked when, the next night, you saw Andrei himself grow fur, his hands and fingers transforming into claws, and his mouth extending into a ravenous maw. You managed to lock him in one of your cages, feeding him a stag to keep him satisfied, and come morning he turned back into the same Andrei you've always known. Now with all the diresome happenings plaguing the Hall, you worry your quiet solitude with the young boy-turned-monster is going to get you in trouble.

You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You are good friends with the stable boy, Andrei (Gamerofthegame). You are confirmed town with him, and the two of you may speak freely OOT. He's a good kid, but something awful has happened to him recently, turning him into a kind of monster during the night. Luckily you have your cages. During the night you may target a player in the game and lock them in a cage, causing them to be unable to perform any actions that night.
You are a roleblocker and you are town-aligned.

Quidnose - Bourde - Servant (town-aligned vanilla)
Hal Incandenza - Florian - Servant (town-aligned vanilla)
a worthy uhh 100YrsofAttitude - Eadwine - Servant (town-aligned vanilla)
zzyzx - Semir - Servant (town-aligned vanilla)

Life as a servant is a tiresome and thankless job. You work from sunup to sunset catering to the whims of your employer. But it's not so bad - you have days off where you head into town and enjoy the company of the locals, and Lady Clarent can be stern but fair. Plus it pays well, the food is good, and if you work hard enough you may some day become a butler or handmaid, which is very prestigious and comes with it a lot of freedom and power. Still, though, for now you're at the bottom of the ladder, and times get hard. You would never think about betraying Lady Clarent though, and certainly not murdering her husband and children. Now you need to find out who you can trust, band together, discover the conspirators in the manor, and bring them to justice. If only so life can return to normal some day.
You are a townie! You seek to eliminate the traitors who have infiltrated Peachtree Hall, and as such win when all scum players are eliminated. You have the normal townie powers of posting and voting in the thread.
You have no exceptional powers or abilities.
You are vanilla and you are town-aligned.

there is only one hell:
the one we live in now
NOTES:
- This setup was made new, I didn't crib off any previous setups for this one. Come on people I'm not THAT uncreative!!

- I am very pleased with how the game turned out. Normally after saying that I would make a snide comment about lurkers and the worthless but you all were actually quite pleasant, thank you so much! And special thanks to the newer players who joined us - I hope you guys stick around.

- The Emerald, some of you may recall, came from the Bandits of Bishadh, where in the post-game I warned players it would be making a second appearance. This is another warning: the Emerald of Ages is not yet done with you all quite yet ;)
--- There were a few other callbacks to previous games here (Gamer's character obviously being bitten by a Ruzelian skinchanger; most of the servant's names echoing regions previously seen in past games; etc.). But the emerald was the only one with actual game-mechanical relevance.

- Wins disappeared because a friend of his fell ill. He's getting better last I checked but it was a sudden thing and happened right when his team (seemingly) needed him the most.

- Amoeba's bulletproof and loved powers were kept secret from him to contrast with the mafia dayvig; Amoeba was a sort of "beloved princess" for the mafia, and I knew the mafia would be incentivized to shoot him rather than let him get executed. With a one-shot BP, he might theoretically absorb the daykill, preventing the mafia from dodging that limitation to their power.
--- The delayed vote thing, I still am not entirely sure what past-me intended with that, but so it goes. I liked the idea of giving the condemned player 12 hours to talk everyone else out of voting them.

- People correctly recalled that the "ambiguous town+ third party" idea came from Madriu, but in truth the idea of a scumteam that wins when all power roles are killed came far earlier - from Omnis Divisa: France 42AD. The Legionaries in that game (which happened to include Spoonsy) made the stupid mistake of fullclaiming their win condition publicly. I really wanted to see how it played out a second time.

- Props to Amoeba for playing the hell out of day 4. He really was outstanding. It is unfortunate that as soon as he died the entire game decided to ignore his dire warnings.

- I loved the idea of an overeager vigilante paired up with a roleblocker ("CAGE THE BEAST!"), it is unfortunate on one level that they never decided to chain each other up properly. On the whole it hurt the town more than helped, but, it did help the town a LOT, especially with the night 1 killing.

- The internal dethy is never something I play straight. For future reference this is the third? time I've done it and I always have at least 2 scum in them from separate factions.

As a parting note in the past I have been known to get a little heated up in post-game discussions about balance, so I want to just say that, if you have any concerns or criticisms regarding the setup or my modding, I will address them in the following post:

Totally called Gamer being the werewolf (Amoeba spotted it first, though; credit where credit is due!). Also called Quin being the mason recruiter. Finally, now it makes a lot more sense why no one really ever looked Spoonsy's way.

No, had gamer killed you, you'd still lose. It ultimately came down to gamer's judgment.

You two losing your nightkill when wins died also explained why I told you night 3 or 4 that you can't just win with bare majority - gamer could still whittle you down to nothing if he placed his kills juuuust right.
