The coverage was saying the race time is taken from that point, so yeah I guess a lot will just stop

Swiss feed for the stage is being shown without commentary, it's really enjoyable way to watch with just the noise of the bikes, motos and fans.

We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already.

So who wins the stage? First lap or eighth?

I'm gonna guess stage positions done at the end of the last sprint but with the time taken at the first

8th, but effectively the stage will end on the first lap so anyone not interested in the sprint can free wheel from there.

I'm gonna be happy when the classics are here again, grand tours are just not my kind of racing.

We should start a new thread.

Lotto Soudal's twitter is saying that everyone needs to finish the stage even after the first passage of the finish. Let's see if they can drag this out until nightfall

2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 to an extent, and 2011 disagree.

2006 and 2007 were pretty excellent contests by all accounts.

I was hoping to see movistar try to make a break for it to take a minute out of froome. Is there a small enough time gap that is acceptable to race for on the last day?

No. With the exception of a crash that prevents a rider from finishing the fight for yellow finishes the day before Paris, except in a time trial.

They need to revise the point scoring. It's ridiculous that the GC winner picks up the KotM by accident and the green jersey winner didn't win a stage.

The KOM Jersey going to Froome is the nature of the beast when there are so many mountain top finishes and he dominated so many of them.

Points jersey is broken from a publicity point of view but it's original intention was to reward the most consistent finisher, who you guessed it, was Sagan.
