On the topic of Canada's Foreign Policy under Harper

quote:

Harper has ignored Canadian ways while destroying our reputation
There’s a clear disjuncture between Canadians and the Harper government on Canada’s foreign policy, writes former Conservative prime minister Joe Clark

Pretty much this. How much does poo poo like this even effect you? I'm sure the conservatives run algorithms on how big the impact is to their policies. Muzzling federal scientists, gag orders at press conferences, loving with election rules without outlawing elections does not alienate the majority of people who would still vote for them. They know which people to disenfranchise or alienate from the system and which not to.

Maybe we should consider drawing all debate panels/moderators from political comedians. Because I would love to see Rick Mercer moderate a debate.

This is amazing

quote:

In my view, the notion that we serve the "middle class" is equally problematic. In this case, I AM a member of this group and can identify with the struggles, earning about $90,000 per annum and struggling nonetheless with a mortgage and debt. This notwithstanding, my values as a Canadian and as a social-democrat teach me to serve the bottom-up. I am more concerned with the homeless people in my community, with First Nations and child poverty, with the struggles of newcomers, than I am with my own struggles. It's probably why I agreed to run for politics rather than find another P/T job or consulting contract to supplement my income.

Bolded is what's quoted on the website, rest is the full paragraph.

They're either flailing or its just something for the true believers to repeat to each other. Sort of like how the same lot would repeatedly claim that a coalition was anti-democratic.

OTOH, the Party of the Rich has lots of cash. Somebody might as well take it off them.

I don't know, maybe people who don't know anything about politics will be surprised that a half-dozen people who want to run for a left-leaning party have left-leaning opinions on things.

I hope this website gets more quotes as the election goes on. How much do you think they paid the kid who has to troll through every NDP candidate's web footprint to find some dirt to bring up? Trick question: the kid is an intern and gets paid nothing. IT'LL LOOK GOOD ON A RESUME THOUGH!
