Somebody made a developer read the lovely Cutlass thread and he's not happy about it. Also he's got a secret plan to let everyone run away from combat but it's still a secret.

I'm waiting for him to reply again and use terms like DKP, BoU, Aggro, BoE & Proc

Edit, because I had to look that crap up it's so long since I've played a game with that poo poo in it.

To be honest he's not wrong about wanting the Cutlass not to be a straight up superiority fighter. The game will be better off if there are ships with a wide range of capabilities. The problem is, the loving marketing team for this game is perfectly willing to lie to people to sell spaceships and they already overpromised the poo poo out of this and pretty much every other design that he's going to have to "Nerf" to get into some kind of usable shape. "Of course it's the best fighter! It is totally capable of defending itself! Pocket carrier too? Sure, gently caress it, why not? (Address all future complaints to the design department.)"

It's fine, I think they are still in shock that someone in CIG pretended to pay attention to them.

Maybe I just played too many PVP games, general characters (or in this case ships) always lose out to specialised characters. It's not even a subject work discussing. AC1, UO, the pvp character template/skills were always built to get that 1-2% edge, you'd even start a character in AC1 with 5 hit points just to ride the edge of the skill curve later on.
