These lyrics don't seem very Haruhi. I mean, I get where they came from, but she hasn't come off as this sappy or flowery before now. Animation and music are top notch though.

I'm inclined to think it's pure coincidence though. Some interesting parallels between it and Eva 24 imo

Man, these two episodes. I loved reliving these two episodes! I think that, despite all of her immature pushiness and narcissism, Haruhi never seems like the kind of person who would want another person to suffer for her own amusement or advancement. She is unaware of her own abilities, but she'd never think "I wish someone would get hurt or die, that would be interesting." The circumstances lining up for her in Live Alive (and Remote Island, depending on how you look at it) are just how the circumstances of her will ended up manifesting. The Computer Club is an exception, but that's okay because they're all a bunch of nerds.
