Is this where I can talk about FIDLAR? Too leaked and it's loving great. It's super different from their self-titled and the songs that preceded that. Zac is very open about the poo poo he's been through in the last few years. It's crazy to read about, but it's so honest.

So yeah, I am glad that my FIDLAR tattoo on my knees isn't gonna be a waste. Can't wait to see them in a week or two

No poo poo!? I stumbled across them a few months ago and played out what I could find. Can't wait to see how different this album is. I might try to catch their Philly show.

I too missed out on RTJ last year and hated myself for doing so. Thankful they are coming back, and October is going to be baller as hell. RTJ, Chvrchrs, and Dear Rouge. And still have to decide on In The Valley Below and Madison Ward/Mama Bear.

Does she enjoy any of RTJ's stuff? If so, she'll have fun at the show.

Not really her kind of music but she's trying to be supportive since none of my friends like them either :v:

I saw RTJ at a festival before I'd heard any of their music. A festival setting is different because it's easier to wander off, but I really enjoyed it and don't typically like rap shows. They're extremely fun on stage and have a great presence. She'll like it.

I think I'm going to get Bloc Party tickets tomorrow even though only half the band have left because I just want to relive getting swallowed into a circle of death and glass bottles during She's Hearing Voices circa 2009.

On one hand, they haven't released anything good since the first record, but on the other hand, that's a great loving record. Will be interested to hear your trip report, I think I'd pick up a ticket if they came through NYC since I haven't seem them live before

I had a friend a few weeks back check out their first show (technically a warmup) in like 3 years (we were at the last one @ the palladium) and see them again with me at FYFFest and they still drop silent alarm like it recalled they were amazing both times. The new band is very cohesive so all the old songs are still singalong jams and the new ones are tight.

Do not be disappointed. Sad, sure. But we still have block party around!

Sadly I did not get tickets because they picked a tiny venue in London and had a godawful ticketing system. Oh well as a middle finger to the new band I'm going to see Algiers instead.

I saw Chance the Rapper (and the Social Experiment) last night. He supplanted The Roots as the best live hip-hop show I've ever seen. His uptempo stuff made me jump. His downtempo stuff was emotionally impactful. You guys gotta see him live.

I bought Perfume Genius' last album when it came out based on the strength of a recommendation from I-don't-remember-where, but I never really listened to it. Then I heard a song on the Mr. Robot soundtrack that sounded crazy familiar, looked it up, and whammo.

So I went back and listened to the album and I loving love it. Can't believe I put it off for so long.

Just got home from seeing Future Islands here in Manchester. It's the third time I've seen them and the venues have been progressively getting bigger. This is a great thing for them and a just reward after four albums that I love and enjoy but there's definitely something jarring about being the only one in the vicinity who appears to recognise a song from the second or even third album.

Possibly the most hipster appraisal ever and I apologise - they blew the roof off the place and I'll never tire of hearing Long Flight or Tin Man live.

I saw them at Glastonbury and other than RTJ it was the most passionate crowd I went to, lots of people singing along and smiling. It was emotional and so nice to see them getting so much love, Samuel Herring, what a man.

Fair enough, my knee-jerk reaction was a bit much. There's still something that I find off-putting about it but that probably has more to do with my awkwardness than the video itself. I still really like the song and I'm excited to hear the rest of the album.

Update: she is very good live! Her set's a bit short, given she only has like half an hour of material to work with, but she has way more stage presence than I was expecting, and the live percussion makes it feel a lot more uptempo than the production on her album.

e: here's probably her best track, I think?
