this has not turned out to be a happy year. in january I lost my Mom, in June I lost OC and in about an hour I'm going to have to take sydney in to be put down. she's a great longhaired catte, small but fierce, started out as a barn cat, pro hunter, very sweet & pettable. she lived 16-17 long years. she's exhibiting symptoms of heart failure, so it's time. recent:

GOOD NEWS something told me to have the vet do a quality-of-life exam before the euthanasia and it turns out sydney has advanced hyperthyriodism. he gave me some pills to give her which will ease her heart rate and labored breathing. i mixed one in with some tuna and she gobbled it down. her appetite is back! so my gut instinct was good. vet says she should be ok but she might drop dead from a sudden heart attack, which would be as quick and painless as a euth. so she got a reprieve
