Yeah I have a lamp which faces the ceiling and sometimes bugs will get in and then you'll turn it on and get the smell of dead burning fly, which is pretty awful.

I like to pretend he never died and after clearly winning the duel he safely returned home.

the only good thing about the dorne plot this past season was siddig buuuut he could be brooding and infirm even if oberyn was still alive so my headcanon works ok I think.

I accidentally read a wiki before the episode and found he died in trial by combat, but I convinced myself he would win and then die in another one later.

I feel so bad for hank and I see walt for the petulant child he is. I wanted Walt to succeed the first time I watched it. Now I just want him to die so he'd stop ruining lives.

I just watched through all of Breaking Bad for the first time a few months ago, and Walt is basically the worst and completely irredeemable as a human being. He's also really terrible at absolutely everything that isn't cooking meth, but spends the entire series thinking he's hot poo poo. If it wasn't for a huge and diverse cast of supporting characters holding up the show, it would be completely unwatchable.

Also Skylar is right about everything and is totally awesome.

I'd been happy, and I was happy still. For all to be accomplished,
for me to feel less lonely,
all that remained to hope
was that on the day of my execution
there should be a huge crowd of spectators and that they should
greet me with howls of execration.

  • Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom (great)
  • The Gulag Archipelago (great)

This is a very unsurprising list Lumpen. I've never found classics to be that entertaining to read, and while they are enriching they are almost always a slog.

My list would probably be

-Cat's Cradle
-The Sun Also Rises
-Dune
-The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
-Gravity's Rainbow

If you enjoy Phillip k dick (I do as well and I've read many of his books) then I'd reccomend these two of his:

Flow my tears the policeman said and The Man in the High Castle. The latter I recommend because Amazon prime instant is making a show based on it. And it's a great book wherein the nazis and Japanese won wwii and the effect that had on America. The former is my favorite Phillip k dick book.

I enjoy existentialism myself (the fall is great), check out "blindness" by Jose saramago. It's a great book about how an epidemic of blindness affects the world. Also check out Amerika by Franza Kafka, a book that is as funny as it is wrong. He wrote it without ever stepping foot on American soil and many facts are wrong. It isn't complete as he never finished it but it's still a great story.

Check out Candide by Voltaire for more dark humor.

I could go on forever about books lol

it's just pseudo-philosophical babble interwoven with some random sci-fi setting/elements and cliche moral conundrums thrown in

like ... he himself admitted he didn't enjoy writing what he did, but he did it because it sold

Dorian gray is good but Lolita's opening sentence beats anything in it.

I couldn't finish Lolita my first attempt reading it. It's just so gross lol.
