I was always under the impression that Lancer was just really unlucky in F/SN with who he was matched up against and the orders he was given (for example, I imagine he could have killed Saber after hitting her with Gae Bolg if he hadn't been ordered to return after scoping her out). Saber and EMIYA could probably beat Heracles if they were legit working together. As I recall from one of the Bad Ends in the Fate route, Excalibur can take off like 4 or 5 lives by itself, or at least a Shirou-powered Excalibur. Not enough to kill, but quite a number regardless. EMIYA keeping Heracles busy while Saber charges Excalibur could probably finish him off. Saber Alter I think could also beat Heracles by herself, by sheer virtue of Dark Excalibur being incredibly strong just by itself and Sakura powering her up, but of course there never was a chance for that.

P much, yeah. Those turn out the best EXP material and are the ones that give you the highest chance of gold. If you can you should try to time some of it with my master level ups so you can do another one, but you can only touch on that stuff so much since master levelling is insane on the days you get master exp quests. Obviously you use the exp stuff appropriate to the servant, but I'd say if you need to you can go ahead and toss on a few other ones if it gets them the extra level. You also want to hope for Great and Super successes which multiply your overall exp, so it's always best to try and fill up all five slots in case you get one.

Also I have terrible luck getting Saber EXP on the Three Knights Dailies and it's so bad that I'm sure my Lancelot is going to ascend and hit level 50 before my Siegfried makes it to 50 who's been ascended forever now.

Yeah, he's almost certainly theoretically capable of destroying a Servant's body (if he manages to get a hit in before getting killed or dying of brain failure), but one of the limitations on his power is that he can only kill things that are capable of "dying" in some humanly comprehensible way, which a heroic spirit probably isn't.

Because Fate apparently didn't already explain why she wanted to do that in great detail, I guess. No, you need her lovely subordinate whining to her about not being punished for loving her wife, the other two kings belittling her at every turn, a french dude creeping on her, having about 4 other servants who could've beaten her and Kiritsugu being a shitheel to her. Yeah, Fate/Zero sure was important to her character.

Saber as presented in Fate does not come across as incomplete, arc-wise. You're led to believe that she ended her life thinking that someone else should've been king and this led to the events of FSN. What Zero added to this for her kind of feels like a retcon of sorts.

Zero is good despite itself. It does a lot of the king thematics with Gil and Alexander very well even though it makes Saber look stupid to do that. It captures knighthood and chivalry very well and made a really cool black knight character, until his helmet came off and his terror wailing turned into bitching and moaning. Gilles de Rais is a really fun character, but rolling his character on another loving saber clone felt really dumb. Iri is a fun character, even though she's just a sacrifice for the sake of Kiritsugu's character. I like that ultimately the two main antagonists do things because they seek pleasure from it rather than any greater purpose and are ultimately vindicated for it by the end of the story. There is enough I like about Zero for all its issues. It's superficial but Lancelot is IMO the coolest loving Servant with the most interesting set of powers (although yeah less so when the helmet comes off). Iskandar/Waver are a great great dynamic that aren't matched in the rest of the franchise. And ultimately I do feel that both Gilgamesh and Kirei are fleshed out and improved upon what we got to see in FSN. Kiritsugu/Saber's content isn't bad but it's kind of a "...and I guess that was there too" for me.
