Listening to Jay Rock's album and it reminds me a bit of MNIMN; mostly good but a lot of moments that feel like Jay trying and failing to emulate other rappers

Song rules and doesn't sound anything like onions. Who says AHnions?

Edit: Meryl streep, okay I agree with that.

I agree with this for the most part, but this has more lasting power for me than ALLA does, which I thought was only okay.

Also, Juicy J mixtape is on point. Talk about a man who knows what kind of music to make to stay relevant. Juicy J is the Prince of rap.

that makes sense, i barely listened to that album.

That T.I. and Thugger joint upthread is off T.I.'s EP Da Nic which dropped yesterday. The tape as a whole is pretty dope.

drat that's sad. Over trying to buy a couple ounces of weed with fake money, too, what a waste all around.

I'm guessing this is gonna be the basis for Deniros next three albums

That Jay Rock album is pretty weak. Like someone else said its all over the place, like he was just desperately trying to figure out something that would work and sell him records. Which is fine or whatever but it does not compare favorably to Follow Me Home, which I really loved for its old-school west coast vibes. He should've stuck with that instead of trying to hop on the bandwagon, there's enough of that poo poo anyways and plenty of people do it better. Ah well.

The T.I. EP is not bad at all, had no idea anything was coming from him

Yeah jay rocks album is pretty bad except a few songs. Guess that is a risk taken when you hype the gently caress out of a rapper for years based on a few verses
