For the repeat viewers: i love how perfectly the opening of this film evokes the "standard" Haruhi model. I think it's almost 23 minutes exactly before things begin to change and it's such a great swerve, with an unnecessary amount of time dedicated to establishing material that plot-wise is almost completely irrelevant
