Semi finals is the most boring weekend of football in the home and away season

Neither of these teams look like they'll give West Coast any kind of trouble at all. Sydney are playing like muppets and North are only just getting ahead.

Has a team that finished eighth ever made a prelim before?

Bloody hell when even a legend like Goodes kicks like that you know it's one of those games

North will probably find a way to mess this up

Thank god for the VFL game today, at least that was pretty good after Sandy's slow start.

The red and royal blue is a fantastic non-clash combination, looks really good on TV. Just makes me think of the '96 GF.

Forest Gump is on after the footy, seems fitting

Just heard Up There Cazaly on the TV. Should be the Finals ad music, every year.

Unless the Swans pull something massive out of their arse in the next little while this looks like a pretty sad end to the season for them. Also means we get the other kind of Norf, the sort that grinds its way all the prelim only to get pummelled into crumbs.

It's North so it's far from won

Sydney need four goals, and as they have only kicked six so far, it's unlikely

It's been really nice listening to Grandstand all afternoon with the country/suburban footy round up, then moving into the AFL game without dealing with the channel 7 peanuts. Lindsay Thomas is full of beans.

Dear Channel 7: I will actually watch that loving abysmally bad poo poo you're shilling (I think it's called 800 words or something stupid) for the entirety of its run if you sack the entire Saturday Night commentary team.

Deary me this game is so dead I've started theorising about a ten team finals series. Top 6 get a week's break, 7-10 play off, and then it's just a straight knock-out after that. Maybe bracketed something like this: 1 v (winner of 8 v 10) 3 v 6 2 v (winner of 7 v 9) 4 v 5 Having said that I think with the current system should stay in place, but yeah, semi-final week is a bit lacklustre, although we've had a straight-sets exit again.

John Longmire doesn't even look happy watching a premiership win while sitting in business class.

West Coast pretty much get another week's break before the grand final.

Atley reminds me of Anthony Rock for some reason. Also, the more I think about it the more the 17-5 season makes sense.

Still a four week finals series (I eliminated double chances in lieu of a bye for the top teams)
