Based on Cerea's character album, I'm guessing she likes red-headed swordsmen who run into things at an angle. Edit: Also, the main difference in the versions of the OP are how the characters call Kimihito: Darling (Mia), Goshujin (Papi), Aruji-dono (Cerea), Master (Suu), Danna-sama (Mero), and Honey (Rachne). Well, I mean, the first scene of the series is Miia pulling Darling in-between her breasts and orgasming. It didn't have far to go.

Someone somewhere else made a good point about mermaids: if they have gills and live in cold water (as the MonMusu ones seem to) then they either have a very low body temperature or go through a lot of calories. (Final* pedantic bioposts when I can be bothered, probably today) *unless Bees wasn't lying and changes the topic.

Comparative anatomy effortpost - speed round #7, [joke about "head"] Someone proposed that Lala was in fact two creatures, co-operating for spooky effect, but that doesn't really square with how her sections seem to share certain sensations. In fact, at the distances involved, very few things do; short of quite strong radio waves, which I guess will have to be our answer here. Making electrical radio transmitters/receivers out of the typical stuff of biology is hard, but by no means impossible. If the "head" and "body" can stay separated for any significant length of time, they'd each need a copy of most of the major organs (heart, lungs, something to store and regulate blood sugar and other nutrients), though they would have to be very small to fit in the head. Kidneys and digestive systems can probably be kept in the body section, though that means the head won't survive indefinitely on its own. The body seems to be partly autonomous, so there's probably a vestigial "brain" in there somewhere. Miia is not a doctor, she was wrong about what she saw down Lala's "neck": there are closable air and food tubes (the latter of which she should be careful about using without her head, chewing is important) but the rest is just "hook-ups" for the blood and nervous systems of the two sections - the former could be something like a pair of matching gills, rather than actually opening blood vessels, the latter will need to be something zanier. Waifu plausibility rating: 2/10: summer project from the waifu lab. _____________________________ #8, Shyclops As that Hitomi comic pointed out, there's not much room in a skull for a round eyeball that size and a normal brain. What they didn't point out was that that is true of most big-eyed moe girls, so I think it's "fair" to say that most of this is an artefact of the art style and that Manako's eye is only 2-3 times the diameter of a human one, which is a bit less of a squeeze. There are a few wiring issues: the retina is technically brain, and the brain likes to have two of everything, including the "vision part" (oversimplification, whatever) and the nerves that connect the eyes to the brain; but this is all negligible compared to some of the bullshit we've handwaved elsewhere. Waifu plausibility rating: 9.5/10: One lucky mutation away from human. _____________________________ #9, are Shrek jokes still funny? Were they ever? Other than the horn, Tio is just a tall human. If she's meant to be part of a species that size, she should probably be a bit less lanky; she needs more heart and lung and the shoulders and legs to support that this would also make her better looking. The horn looks more like a keratin rhino horn than something like a deer antler, but it could easily be either. It doesn't seem to be very useful on something human-shaped, but isn't a madly implausible mutation. Waifu plausibility rating: 9.3/10: isolated human sub-species. More to follow "soon". (I've got some serious grade inflation going on here, I guess that's what you get when you mark "sapient transforming ooze" and "a lady with one eye" on the same scale)

It feels dirty putting Ika Musume on any list that includes MonMusu. But if that is the price for more Ika Musume discussion, it's worth it. Ika Musume is somehow still going and still funny. Canonically it's been less than a month despite the series running since 2007.
