It looks like the red panda encounter at the Chattanooga Zoo is back on: http://www.chattzoo.org/visit/wild-encounters The only problem is that Chattanooga is nowhere near anything else of interest to me. At least it's closer than New Zealand.

Tennessee has whiskey, barbecue, roots music, and mountains. Wouldn't be the worst place to visit. Can't say a trip fits in my budget at the moment, though. Especially since I'd need to factor in the extra $ to feed a panda
