I am not sure what point you are trying to make there, but I think Taste's point is valid. There are good ways to try and generate content, and there are ways of using that as an excuse to say little and let others generate content for you to work with when you are stuck trying to force reads. What 100years did felt like the second kind. It's wrapped up in a lot of fluff and buddying and feels fake.

Meinberg's reaction to it and defense of it feels off to me as well, it takes no critical look at the situation and is just waves away any analysis of what happened and tries to brush the whole thing under the table.

OMGUS or whatever, but I also don't like Vimes play too much this game, it's a good example of posting noise and saying little of substance, something I find to be scummier more often than just lurking (merk would say Vimes is content lurking).

Captain Foo posted:

What do you think of Hal's reasoning for hammering?

I had said I was going to vote birdstrike in 15-30 minutes before going to sleep, had nothing come up. I may have just been needlessly buying time, because ultimately the execution is decided via plurality and even without the final vote, considering the activity, it'd of been very unlikely to have people unvote birdstrike let alone move their vote elsewhere. So with that in mind I think Hal's hammer is just him goofing around, as he said, and it fits because frankly had he not done anything and just kept silent as he had been doing we'd have not noticed or cared anymore.

The first part or the latter because I've been saying that his hammer actually makes me read him as town. And that'd contradict your vote. I also don't think his case on me was manufactured. Also Anon why not Meinberg? Our case there is admittedly pretty weak in the large scheme of good cases:

-He hasn't delivered any expressively promised content because:
A) He's actually busy
B) He's scum and hasn't got anything to say or create

-His vote on birdstrike was a reinforced joke vote that comes after the majority of the cases are made on birdstrike.

-Multiple times he expresses concern about tunneling on birdstrike or finding him guilty for bad reasons but it doesn't stop his vote.

Meinberg posted:

Maybe it's just his avatar, but I feel like I can't trust that Birdstrike guy.

Meinberg posted:

My gut says Bird, but I might be internally tunneling on him too much. I probably should take a look at other folks. Hal is being a bit too lurkery, if he doesn't put out more on D2, he's someone I'll want to consider.

Dude literally said he was hammering in 15-30 minutes like 10 minutes before I did it and no one was talking or really supporting other candidates. Are you asserting that I was so desperate as scum to get Birdstrike killed that I felt like I had to force a hammer instead of letting it happen naturally a few minutes later?

If you really want to assert that you better provide some reasoning as to why I would have done that.

I think Meinberg hasn't been all that great this game, but his confusion about LYLO makes me think he's more likely town than scum. Scum are going to pretty aware of how many players are in the game and when it is LYLO, and I don't think Meinberg is going to fake that misunderstanding in that situation.

Was it because I actually don't think he had an illogical case on me earlier? Or because I'm defending his hammer of birdstrike? Because I've accused SSV of trying to get Hal executed for lurking on D1? Or because I'm willing to listen to his opinion on Meinberg's inaction rather than mindlessly sticking to my opinions?

Here's where we stand.

Foo's not coming back. His vote is stuck on Meinberg. Who is missing and will certainly not vote himself.

I don't think I can make a more compelling case on Meinberg at this point. Hasn't kept promises and as a bad vote on birdstrike that dated from jokephase. It's really all that compelling.

And is why I would move my vote. I think it's pretty clear I wouldn't vote Hal seeing as none of his actions have struck me as dishonest.

I would however be willing to move my vote to Foo or SSV. I suppose it'd have to be the latter since the former won't be around to defend himself. Or altogether make a super compelling case on someone else, but if I could do that I'd of done it already.

Hal Incandenza
Feb 12, 2004

What time is deadline? I will be around but I am busyish so I don't want to forget to come back before deadline.

I would be OK moving my vote to Meinberg if it came down to it. His posting has been bad (although promising to deliver content and then not doing it isn't a slam dunk scumtell) and he was definitely defensive out of nowhere. I think not knowing the game situation is weird as scum but it's not the strongest evidence for being town either, and I always say post content trumps almost everything in mafia.

ssv>foo>meinberg is how I feel right now. 100years seems town to me at this point, ANarc as well, TT I can't tell.
