Once again I'm not sure why R* decided to give the enemy NPCs the accuracy and damage of Tier 1 Operators.

When you have cover mechanics it sort of eliminates the need for you to actually think about your combat mechanics as a developer, you just go "well the player can always play a less fun way and win so gently caress making our AI actually interesting."

I haven't played the game in months, and some time ago I noticed they added more poo poo to do in Free Play mode. Are those events any fun, and are they good sources of RP/GTA$? I don't want to waste a shitload of bandwidth reinstalling only to find hot garbage.

Just like everything else they are fun to play with friends / goons and a total crap shoot with pubbies. Many of them are simple and don't pay all that well. Some examples of the kinds of events / challenges I've done are: Open parachute closest to the ground and survive Player kills / player headshot kills Scramble for a vehicle / bicycle King of the mountain Longest motorcycle stoppie They are more "diversion while waiting for heist invites" than "reason to play GTAO". The new adversary games are pretty good though, those seem to mostly be LTS-type competitions where you try to stop a runner from escaping. It might be worth checking out while we wait for Tuesday's lowrider update which introduces new cars, hydraulics for those cars, some new customization options maybe, a 4th property slot, the usually array of new clothes and hairstyles, and a new set of Lamar contact missions.

I really hope we can buy and upgrade the lowriders right out of the gate. I really don't want to play any tedious heist style missions to unlock them because those are a crapshoot with pubbies. It's the reason I still haven't completed Series A or Pacific Standard. Any PC goons want to help me fix that later on?

Maybe you'll have to buy a special garage (a mod shop) and you'll initiate the missions from there. If hydraulics are a thing in this, are there even buttons available on the console controller for that? Don't know how the 360 did it for San Andreas, but GTAO has a bit more to map on the controller. Maybe a button that'll toggle between aiming and hydraulics? All the buttons are taken even when in-vehicle. I believe they said they were just gonna use the interaction menu anyway.

I was thinking just select it the same way you select weapons. Then while you're holding down the left bumper, use the right stick to raise/lower different sides and right bumper to switch between high and low, or double-tap it to hop.

Yeah, according to the modder who found this stuff on the servers it appears to be for a Halloween update. The masks and the vehicles at least. The Tec-9, Machete, and Flashlight are all probably Lowriders update stuff.
