The larger number and higher frequency of ship sales this year relative to last year is probably a direct response to this, in order to keep their projection on-target in the absence of new content. They can probably reasonably sustain it through the end of the year with another large anniversary sale without going too far off-target, but as they get into January and February, they'll have to have something out, one way or another. If Alpha 2.0 isn't released between the anniversary livestream/sale and their Christmas break, January will likely make the last few months' shenanigans look good.

These are the musings of a rational human being.

Are you OK?

Yeah, gifting stuff away off of the total amount spent. They're ignoring the fact that I melted every ship I had in my hangar to come to that $1265 figure, and it's still well below the total I actually spent. I guess they're hoping I'll settle for less than half and go away?

Maybe contact that Escapist lady and as many other media contacts as you can as well, I'd like to read whatever cut/paste job they put together for that reply too.

Edit. But maybe sort it out before pissing them off, easier to laugh later when you have ALL the money.

Their engineering debt is reaching the equivalent of taking a mortgage out on the house you purchased with a downpayment funded by mortgaging a house which was largely paid for by a mortgage taken out on another house which had a downpayment covered by a mix of payday loans and car (1991 Honda Accord) collateral and also a mortgage taken out on another house which was paid for by a mix of college loans (you dropped out) and co-signed by your parents, and you're in your apartment, having just been laid off from your job as a Starbucks barista, that maybe it's time to start thinking about flipping them for the big bucks. Also it's January 2007, and there's an official looking letter from the bank that's sitting unopened on your milk crate coffee table.

Hahaha this is wonderful. Not for you of course, but the ridiculousness of it all. Makes for great comedy.

Before issuing a chargeback, see if any of the True Believers on the Brown Sea will kickstart your refund. They seem willing to throw money down this abyss to keep their masturbatory dreams alive.

They likely couldn't sell it to anyone without selling the whole company to them, since much of it is based on CryEngine code that they most likely don't have a license for sale or redistribution of.

If you want a laugh ask them to point you to the bit of the TOS that spells all this out.

If you just want your money back, tell them you don't agree to these new terms and therefore want a refund for the full $1265 and it they don't do it in X days you will be forced to explore other options.

You can make X whatever you like.

I mean other than that though, fantastic recipe and not far off from my own.

Crock pot beef stew is incredibly forgiving. You can leave out the potatoes, or the onions, or add additional vegetables, and it'll almost certainly turn out fine. If you like parsnips, gently caress it, add parsnips. Want red onions instead of white? gently caress it, it's your stew. Don't feel like browning anything? Screw it, it'll be fine.

The secret is that if you left out all of the seasonings besides the salt and pepper, didn't brown anything, and didn't thicken it up, you'd still end up with something that tastes pretty okay.
