But if all you want to do is connect a PC up so you can watch all your downloaded porn and play a few rounds of Killing Floor or Warhammer: Rat Exterminator, then have at. There are threads scattered around the web listing which models can pass a 4:4:4/RGB signal, including 4K at 60 Hz. I haven't been looking recently, so I don't know how exhaustive or up-to-date they are at this point.

I THINK rtings.com lists if the TV has 4.4.4 or not. I know the vizio t.v. I have is honestly pretty decent as a placeholder monitor, but miss the 1440p

Do any of you have recommendations on a reliable G-sync monitor? I've been using a single Dell U2311H which has served me well, but would lke to try a dual monitor setup. I don't care as much about image quality as the U2311H is an IPS and is very crisp so i can just stream stuff on that display--rather I'm more interested in reliability, reasonable price, and decent resolution (1080p or higher), and of course the presence of G-Sync as I'd like to use this one for gaming. I've been eyeballing an Acer-XB240H but the reviews indicate that hardware problems aren't uncommon. Should I go for it, or does anyone have a better suggestion?

I care about it but not to the detriment of higher refresh rate or G-sync, if I have to trade one for the other.

In games, I don't really notice it even having come from 3 previous IPS monitors So yeah, it's a factor, but gsync far outweighs it for me for what I use it for

Mine has some minor backlight bleed (definitely noticeable with a black screen, not at all to me during my typical usage). Also of course the colors aren't as good as even the cheap, mediocre IPS monitor I have sitting next to it, though it's actually pretty good compared to the TN it replaced and other TNs I've used personally. I guess I wouldn't want to watch movies on it or whatever, but for my purposes it's great. I just wanted a monitor as responsive as possible for playing FPSes and other fast action games, with GSync, for as little money as possible. I've been happy with it in that context. If colors or backlight stuff are a big deal to you though, it's probably not what you want.

Looking for monitor recommendations, as the back light in my current monitor has died. What I'm looking for: -27ish inch -min 1920x1080 -dvi / Hdmi in -usage is fps gaming and general Web browsing -budget $300 Canadian, taxes / shipping included. I'm coming from a Samsung SyncMaster 2693HM, which from what I can see is a TN panel. I've been happy with this monitor (purchased in 2008) and really just want something equivalent to it. Phone posting at the moment as I'm without a computer. The monitor turns on (well, the power light is on) but nothing on the screen & no flickering or anything, regardless of if I connect with HDMI or DVI, which is why I think the back light died.

I'd recommend this monitor, it's in your price range, big but not so big that the lack of pixel density makes it look awful, it has low input lag and little in the way of ghosting, 2x HDMI, good built in speakers, good warranty and so on. It will also look a lot better than your old monitor.

Today I replaced this monitor(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014158), and bought a new ASUS VS24AH-P. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236331) This is my first IPS monitor so I don't know if what I'm seeing is a problem or just how displays are. http://imgur.com/a/UtKx2/all The first image is what the monitor looks like straight on, which is fine. Next is what the monitor looks like from about 45° to the left. Next is if I move my camera up about 6 inches. It's kind of like backlight bleed, but it's totally uniform over the whole monitor and entirely dependent on viewing angle. I thought IPS was supposed to have superior viewing angles to TN? This seems much worse. Is this how the panel is supposed to look, or is there a problem with it?

Newegg has the XB270HU "bprz" for suddenly $709... What's with the "bprz" now? I don't remember it before, is it a new code for all the dust-filled QC failures? Or the version that burns your house down? I was thinking it's a sneaky way of naming the old TN equivalent, but the stats say IPS. Anybody know if this really is just inventory clearing before the 271, or something to seriously avoid?

I would try the Dell you have Radish, but didn't you say it's not really great for gaming? That's actually about 60% of what I do on my computer so whatever i get needs to have no ghosting and a pretty low input lag, ideally. I guess I'm going go with my current monitor until it dies or a viable alternative presents itself. Maybe around tax return time I can make the jump to 1440p. If you are ok with 1080p/27" there is the Asus VX279Q for a little over $300 with a $30 MIR or the Asus MX279H for $330 but with free shipping. Of the two the MX279H is better, the VX278Q is an older model so I feel the MX279H is the better buy since you have to wait like 3-4 months on the MIR to get processed.
