Bullshido has awful web design and a lot of weird annoying dudes on it but I like the idea of it

Did Bullshido's popularity drop off when Facebook became widespread? I can remember it being one of only a few online MMA/BJJ communities in the early 2000s. I imagine these white collar BJJ nerd types would have moved onto 'this is my therapy' memes on larger social media platforms.

Two of my MA buddies were regulars to the Toronto Bullshido throwdowns. They got me to show up to one a few years ago to try the knife fighting. Although some participants were a bit goonier than others, I didn't find any drama to it - just a bunch of MA enthusiasts wanting to live train. I actually give props to the traditional martial arts practitioners who show up to test their skills because their dojo doesn't do live sparring.

Acai is popular in brazil and not very common anywhere else, and also is one of those "superfoods*" that's supposed to be very nutritionally healthy. So it's very popular among BJJ folks in Brazil, and has therefore become popular with BJJ folks in America, which means people get excited over sales because it's not common in the US and therefore fairly expensive. * disclaimer: not actually super

You can get them in juice blends and at smoothie places pretty regularly here, but I don't think I've ever seen actual berries on sale here before in any of the non-Whole Foods type places I do all my shopping. I don't know a drat thing about what kind of nutrients are in them but I can confirm they taste nice with blueberry or pomegranate juice.

Acai berries produce tiny quantities of edible fruit so you're only ever going to see them in a highly processed form like a smoothie pack or as a sorbet.

Just eat some blueberries, honestly. Or saskatoon berries if you want something with more fibre so you can call it a superfood. Actually, do they sell Saskatoon berries outside of the Canadian prairies?

Acai has become really popular in Sweden lately, it's popped up in all these little health/raw food places all over town, at least in Stockholm. Super delish but it's given almost mythical properties here too. e: $26/90g Opal fucked around with this message at 08:30 on Oct 30, 2015 |

Can't speak to that gi, but if you don't need one immediately, last year a bunch of websites had some pretty good sales on for Black Friday - some places had 50% off site wide.

But, if its a really fresh guy I'd think it was dumb. If You're really new I think its kinda a mistake getting a gimmick gi. Especially if its your only one.

I've seen people at the white belts class with louder gi's than that one, so i'm sure it'll work out.

I somewhat agree with Xguard but if you've been rolling around the gym and the guys there know you, I don't think it would matter, even if you're still a whitebelt (keep in mind though, i'm just a white belt)

It's like wearing gold cleats, people will think you're kind of a shithead who wants attention but nobody really cares that much. It does send something of a message that you're there to joke around rather than to train.

While were on the subject of clothing and grappling accessories. I just purchased a pair of UGS shoes from RMAX. I didn't ask in this thread but I was curious to know if anyone here has had a good experience with them. I usuall wear 10.5 size shoes but they only sold 10's and 11's (took the 11's).
