I am not surprised. In my experience, a lot of auditors are assholes who always have to be right. They usually go into companies and point fingers going "you done hosed up son" and then "suggesting" i.e. telling people how to do it right.
In private social situations, when they don't get what they want and/or are not right in any context and you tell them, they will lash out and fight to the bitter end to be right.

In this case, an rear end in a top hat who can't admit to be wrong bought jpegs from a scammer. Instead of admitting it, he will fight to the bitter end to make it seem as if he was right all along by any means necessary.

Well, I'd agree Derek can be a bully, but in ways both good and bad, he's considerably more than that.

I can think of no individual on this planet who has proven a greater threat to CIG than Derek Smart, save for Chris Roberts and Sandi Gardiner.

Yup, pretty much. But they're all in denial because, well, bogeyman and all. Wait until my next blog - which cleared legal last week - hits on Tuesday. They're really going to be mad.

I guess that kind of makes sense, but like, his entire job is being sceptical when directors say things like "nah, you don't need to see financials" and "don't worry, game's coming out in two weeksTM". Yeah, the Star Citizen audit is ready for sign-off, we got a management rep saying that everything is fine and that everything bad is a wicked gamergate ruse. Clearly the blog hinges on it being NOVEMBER,... something something original TOS (I did not understand that legalese).
And Tuesday probably because of some stuff that must first be done on Monday before the blog is published, something for which it must be Novemeber and Monday is the 2nd and therefore the first working day of November when you can file poo poo and stuff.

I.e. Derek will hand in suing papers on Monday and tell us about it in his blog on Tuesday when it is already done so CIG can't preliminarily injunct him or some legalese ninjitsu.

Disclaimer: I am as competent at law as CIG is at making a functioning game, so my information is pre-alpha, don't rely on it.
