I'm not like an encyclopedia of techno or anything but 88UW is pretty cool imho and i guess can be kinda dark/sci-fi ish. I never thought to term it like that, cool. https://soundcloud.com/reclaim-it-all-podcast/reclaim-it-all-podcast-88uw-30 https://soundcloud.com/strobetechno/strobe-fm-podcast-045-88uw anyone know of any similar stuff? Krenzlin is cool too sometimes.

Most any Oscar Mulero mix is probably a good way to go for the scifi stuff too... He did a boiler room set a couple months ago that was pretty good.

Everything I heard about Labyrinth was true and it more than delivered on the hype. Easily beats any previous party, club, or festival experience for me. They get everything about festival logistics right, and the engineer tuning their Funktion One did an amazing job. Peter Van Hoesen was the highlight for me and I wish I could've finished the last hour of Voices From The Lake. DJ's definitely drop their ego when playing Labyrinth, and I can't wait to go again.

celewign posted:is it ok to ask people about trap in this thread? those truth anti smoking commercials have me checking it out It is unfortunate that the term "techno" became kind of a catch-all for anything electronic in music. Not really sure if there is a thread for trap, but yeah trap and techno are both trying to do very different things musically. (Since you are exploring new stuff right now though, I highly recommend checking out some of the links in this thread to see if you like real techno! )

Has anyone watched The Exhibitionist 2 yet? It's on my list of things to buy later since it's mostly reasonably priced compared to some of Jeff Mills's other projects. I guess here's a mix I did the other day which I thought came out alright. Definitely squarely in the techno space. https://www.mixcloud.com/johnnyC/emp-radios-5th-birthday/

Need some advice techno thread. Friend wants to do Movement Electronic Music Festival: Detroit with me, but not attend the actual festival, just the parties. To me that sounds crazy, I'm sure there are some excellent parties we could go to, but I wouldn't want to arrange my entire experience around that. Who is right here?

I'm in Taipei again and tomorrow night is Smoke Machine's 6 year party. Kangding Ray is playing live and Kobosil has a 4 hour set. Korner's become an Asian techno powerhouse now, they just had Xhin for Halloween, then Ben Klock, and Morbeck is playing soon Kangding Ray's album is pretty drat good too!
