Sure do!

These two are a bit harder, if that's not your style then there's this from Cirez D that isn't explicitly sci-fi but scratches that same dark throbby itch.

I'm not like an encyclopedia of techno or anything but 88UW is pretty cool imho and i guess can be kinda dark/sci-fi ish. I never thought to term it like that, cool.

Most any Oscar Mulero mix is probably a good way to go for the scifi stuff too... He did a boiler room set a couple months ago that was pretty good.

Everything I heard about Labyrinth was true and it more than delivered on the hype. Easily beats any previous party, club, or festival experience for me. They get everything about festival logistics right, and the engineer tuning their Funktion One did an amazing job. Peter Van Hoesen was the highlight for me and I wish I could've finished the last hour of Voices From The Lake. DJ's definitely drop their ego when playing Labyrinth, and I can't wait to go again.

when I think recondite I think really minimal like their track Levo. With longer more droning notes.
melodic to me is more like this. although I shouldn't have made that post the way I did

Some of Dozzy's stuff - but not all - might be up your alley. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXlMVC_71gE
Maybe Varg as well - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6Czc_RlVxc
Some of the things on Field Records as well - this compilation from last year had this winner on it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0g22m4QsFM

Not quite as stadium status emotive as Recondite has the tendency to be but might be at least headed in the right direction.

It is unfortunate that the term "techno" became kind of a catch-all for anything electronic in music. Not really sure if there is a thread for trap, but yeah trap and techno are both trying to do very different things musically.

(Since you are exploring new stuff right now though, I highly recommend checking out some of the links in this thread to see if you like real techno! :c00l:)

Has anyone watched The Exhibitionist 2 yet? It's on my list of things to buy later since it's mostly reasonably priced compared to some of Jeff Mills's other projects.

I guess here's a mix I did the other day which I thought came out alright. Definitely squarely in the techno space.

Going for just the after parties is a pretty common thing to do and the city is going to be lit up the whole weekend. That being said the festival is amazing and I highly recommend both.

I know plenty of people who prefer doing only afterparties since some of them spill into the daytime hours of the festival. I prefer to do both, though I will say that afterparties usually mean extended sets.
