There is one $55 DLC and one $65 DLC, both for alternate costumes. Even if you actually put down $120 for them, you still would not have all of the costumes that the consoles do[/list]

Two more DLC sets have been released for the Steam version, at $75 and $65. If you were to buy all the DLC and had pre-ordered the game, you would have almost all the costumes. You would only be missing the Senran Kagura set, the one Marie Rose costume you get buying the season pass, and a Kasumi costume that was a Ragnarok Oddysey ACE promo. If you didn't pre-order, you're also missing out on eight costumes that were console pre-order bonuses depending on if you pre-ordered from Gamestop or Amazon, and four costumes that are currently Japan-only on consoles. In fact, the Steam DLC includes the other pre-order bonus costumes, and some other currently Japan-only costumes.

There's some good news and bad news with that info. The good news is that if you had bought all the DLC as it came out for the console version, since most of the costumes are Ultimate DLC sets that didn't become unlockables is Last Round, you spent $330.28. On Steam, you'd spend $260.96, and get more costumes out of it.

The bad news is that console LR has the $92.99 Ultimate costume set, which is all the DOA5U DLC that wasn't made into DOA5LR unlockables. Which is also around 80% of the Steam DOA5LR DLC content.:suicide:

e: You'd be missing one more costume, added it in.

I've probably spent around $100 on DLC costumes, 3-4 costumes here and there at $1.99 each just add up and when the Encore and Showstoppers go for sale I'm probably going to get those too. I feel like I'm making Tom Lee sad.

Tried that with the other launching throws in the game. I think Izuna may be the only one affected.

My theory is that this whole thing was another marketing ploy to gauge attention for the game, otherwise it would've been released regardless by the publisher.

Also, the game is gonna be a DLC blackhole worse than Idolmaster.

The PC patch should be available soon to all regions.

From what I heard, there have been some new glitches introduced to the game. So far, I've only heard of Jacky and Momiji having some weird stuff right now.

Akira's 2H+K recovery after his shoulder throw (46 or 64, I forgot which) can be cancelled with 22H possibly for more combo opportunities. Not sure whether this was a thing in the last build or not. It was first found by someone at A-cho I think and it was by complete accident.

I believe out of the three platforms it has the most population. I'm not sure if that says much. Online is a long ways from the heyday of Dead or Alive 4. You could always just download the Core Fighters for free and check it out yourself to see if it's enough for you.

Actually, those glitches were all found in offline situations. The Akira glitch was first found in A-cho arcade and the other two were found during a session with another player. These are finicky and one is hard to do, but they're definitely not related to online.

The PS4 player base seems to be the largest of the bunch. The PC version might get a good flow of people in once online is in a more stable state. Since the DOA Online servers might close once that happens, a lot of people would move onto Steam DOA5 to get their fix.

DOAO has another part-time chinese server, though that one's been quiet these past few years. The game is still big in Russia, China and Taiwan. Not sure which is the biggest, but I'm guessing it's either China or Taiwan.

Throwing is your primary source of punishment in the game, so you it's good to know how they work. Grapplers have faster and more damaging throws while strike-heavy characters end up with slower and weaker throws, but some characters have launching throws where you can use to do combos and potentially get higher damage with the environment like ceilings and breakable objects. Select few characters in the game have catch throws called Offensive Holds in DOA, so they're pretty good too. They're generally the slowest types of throws out there.

I personally can't rely on Nyo's ground throw setups. They're finicky and never plus if you whiff, so I just prefer to flip back and play the range game again. Kind of a shame she's not as good as I want her to be, but I guess she's not terrible and pretty fun.
