I liked that episode, it was fun to watch Maher and Colbert go after each other, serious discussions about the middle east situation with the military, Shepard Fairey trying to maintain relevance, and then the dumbest loving thing I've seen on TV in ages.

Lutha Mahtin posted:kinda surprised he'd have maher on his show. he's pretty much the opposite of colbert, at least in the whole "being funny" and "is a decent person" categories He had Trump too. I feel part of the ethos of Colbert's show is that anyone can be your guest and you should attempt to have a civil conversation with them as long as they're even slightly willing to. That's been one of my favorite things about it so far.

I could watch Maher and Colbert for hours. Maher's smug cynical rear end in a top hat routine comes off somehow new and refreshing up against someone who can outwit and outjoke him with optimism and sincerity. It's like Crossfire but not horrible and depressing.

Colbert had the Acrocats on and their level of apathy almost gave Janice a run for the money. But she just don't give a gently caress." 10 seconds of air time is all I need.

Did they have the cat band on Colbert? Tuna and the Rock-Cats? That's the best part of their live show

I finished watching the episode a little while ago. They did that a little bit when I saw them live too, but it was definitely worse on Colbert. Maybe the bigger audience freaked them out, because every time I've seen them, it's been at a tiny theater.

Kind of wish his political obituary included his transformation from a politician proud of his family's immigrant background to a man actively burning every bridge to the Indian Americans who once backed him.
